Newbie struggling with girls names

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!!
This is brand new for me. I am currently expecting and we are not finding out what we are having. We do have a decent list of boys names that we like and are content with not searching further.
For girls though I am struggling so hard.
I don’t really know my style so I’m unsure where to look. I don’t feel like the names I like really fit together. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband likes more modern names, and I do as well at times. I also like some more vintage or traditional names but not too stuffy. It is important to me to have a name that isn’t completely out there or made up but also fairly unique or at least not common/over done.
This is the list of names I like some. If any expert name berries could give any suggestions or tell me what the heck my style seems to be I would be so very appreciative.

[name_f]Alma[/name_f] (husband hates it)
[name_u]Banks[/name_u] (long love but [name_u]Hilary[/name_u] duff stole it :P)
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (husband hates it)
[name_f]Emilie[/name_f] (husband not a big fan, we do know several [name_f]Emily[/name_f]’s)
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (husband not a fan)
[name_f]Kinley[/name_f] (name of friends baby)
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] (overdone/name of close friends baby)

That’s kind of it- we like the idea of using names with links to our heritages as well if we end up finding a name we like. I am Chinese and he is Norwegian.
Any help/tips/tricks would be amazing. :)

What about [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Marianna[/name_f], or [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]?

I think your style is eclectic! There are some vintage picks like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], unusual modern like [name_u]Banks[/name_u], trendy like [name_f]Kinley[/name_f], quirky classics like [name_f]Alma[/name_f] and [name_f]Selah[/name_f].

I don’t think Meili would get mistaken to [name_f]Miley[/name_f], but I’d hear it as “[name_f]Maelie[/name_f]” with that pronunciation.

What about:
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ziva[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_u]Adley[/name_u]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_u]Adair[/name_u]

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]

Maybe you’d like:

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Edie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]

With [name_u]Banks[/name_u] the fact that [name_u]Hilary[/name_u] [name_u]Duff[/name_u] used it might actually be a benefit—it’s so unusual it might make it a little more familiar to other people.

Welcome and Congratulations!!
You have some beautiful names picked out! [name_f]My[/name_f] partner and I also really struggle with girls names and are way for agreeable when it comes to boys names!

For style I would say you have an eclectic group which I feel is the definition for this roaring 20’s group. It’s not unusual in daycares and schools to have a [name_u]Jackson[/name_u] , [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] , [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] in the same class. So rest assured that whatever you decide will be perfect!

I really like a lot of names from your list , so it’s a same your partner isn’t agreeable to
[name_f]Alma[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Selah[/name_f] - I grew up with a [name_f]Selah[/name_f]!
[name_f]Emilie[/name_f]
Meili - this one feels perfect

If you are looking for suggestions I think these names have some roots in your mixed heritage
[name_u]Alix[/name_u]
Liena
[name_f]Elin[/name_f]
[name_f]Hildi[/name_f]
[name_f]Ilka[/name_f]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
Ru/ [name_u]Rue[/name_u] / [name_u]Rune[/name_u]
[name_f]Selda[/name_f] (Norse name , similar to [name_f]Selah[/name_f])
[name_f]Yulla[/name_f]

Mixing in more common names
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] ( close to [name_f]Emilie[/name_f], a nickname [name_f]Alma[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Melanie[/name_f] ( similar to Meili also could have nn [name_f]Alma[/name_f])
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] , [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]
[name_f]Kalea[/name_f] - similar to [name_f]Kinley[/name_f] but distinct in her own way
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - rooted from [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]

I like your style is a bit preppy - some vintage, some surnames, some modern!

Hi there.

Here are my thoughts on my thoughts on your list:

Alma-I’m very familiar w/the husband hating my favorite names. But [name_f]Alma[/name_f] is cool. It’s not my favorite either, but I like the style of it if that makes sense. Smart, no nonsense, fairly simple, old fashioned & pretty unique.

Banks-Ha, celebrities tend to do that. It’s not my personal favorite anyway. [name_m]Just[/name_m] sounds a little bit not like a name to me.

Eleanor-I love this one. It’s bold & feminine & adventurous. Very popular though.

Emilie-I think that this spelling would just be a headache. And [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is very popular. Sweet classic name though.

Georgia-I kind of like it some days & some days it doesn’t sound that pretty to me. But it’s a nice choice.

Kinley-Yeah, its the name of a lot of peoples’ babies. Very trendy.

Meili-I think that this spelling & pronunciation could be tricky, but may be worth it for an unique name that you both like. I actually know of a little Meili who is four years old. [name_f]My[/name_f] SIL’s good friend’s daughter.

Mila-So popular. Pretty though.

Selah-This is nice & different.

I’m not entirely sure what to call your style either, but here are some suggestions of names that remind me of your current list:

Amelie

Ada

Celia

Cecilia

Cecily

Chloe-maybe a little popular, but I honestly never meet any.

Eden

Freya

Gemma

Greta

Holly

Hazel-kind of popular, but old fashioned & lovely.

Josephine

Mabel

Margot

Maisy

Penelope

Ruby

Stella

Vivian

Willa

Hope this helps.
