Newest name crush is it usable?

So I have really started liking [name]Perrie[/name] for a girl. I think the love started from [name]Perrie[/name] Edwards from [name]Little[/name] Mix. Is [name]Perrie[/name] too masculine for a girl? I don’t really like [name]Juniper[/name] nn [name]Perrie[/name] (or [name]Juniper[/name] at all) so are there any other names [name]Perrie[/name] can be short for.

I don’t like [name]Perrie[/name] on a girl at all, I just think of the surname and [name]Perry[/name] the Platypus.

It feels a bit…cheap.

I think it’s cute!! I would use it as Perrie. I think that spelling makes it a little cuter and more girly!

My thoughts exactly. I don’t like it at all on a girl.

I like it on a girl, especially with that spelling.

I like it, i think the ie spelling makes it more feminine and usable on a girl

My grandma uses [name]Peri[/name] as a nn for [name]Pearl[/name]. It works for her as she has a very lively personality, so a spunky nn really suits her.

I love [name]Perrie[/name] on a girl!

I think the -ie ending makes [name]Perrie[/name] sound more feminine. [name]Perrin[/name] could be another full name.

Ditto. It’s really unattractive.

[name]Perrie[/name] as a NICKNAME works fine, not as a full name, though. I like it for [name]Persephone[/name], [name]Parisa[/name], [name]Temperance[/name] and [name]Vesper[/name].

Oooh, [name]Vesper[/name] nn [name]Perri[/name]/[name]Peri[/name] is great.

I was immediately reminded of [name]Peri[/name] Gilpin the actress who played (bear with me here) [name]Frasier[/name]'s producer [name]Roz[/name] on the 90s sitcom [name]Frasier[/name]. I’m sure the reason I remember this is that it’s a cool and unusual name for women. I gather [name]Peri[/name] the Platypus is a children’s book or show of some sort? Well you wouldn’t hesitate to name your son [name]Peter[/name] because of [name]Peter[/name] Rabbit a much more famous book, yes? I say go for it!

[name]Peri[/name]-- spelled thusly-- is actually a modern Hebrew name (full name) meaning “outcome.” In Persian & Sanskrit folklore a [name]Pari[/name]/[name]Peri[/name] was a fallen angel; in Greek mythology a [name]Pari[/name] was a oread, a spirit inhabiting a cave. [name]Pari[/name] is a fairly common name in Iran, and [name]Peri[/name] is popular in modern [name]Israel[/name].

You had some great suggestions for longer forms if you truly prefer the nn [name]Perrie[/name], but wanted to lend some weight to [name]Peri[/name].

Oh, this is really interesting! I have an aunt who is from [name]Israel[/name], I’ve always been intrigued with Hebrew names and names from her culture. Thank you!

I have an uncle [name]Perry[/name], so its all man to me. [name]Even[/name] as man’s name, I don’t care for it too much. Mind you, I did know a girl named [name]Gerrie[/name], and I thought it suited her. Maybe if I met a female [name]Perrie[/name], it would change my perception.

I think it’s very cute with the -ie ending on a girl. Although I do think I’d prefer it as a middle name. What about [name]Peridot[/name]? That hasn’t been suggested as a name for it yet.

I quite like [name]Perry[/name] as a nickname for [name]Peridot[/name].

I am a HUGE [name]Journey[/name] fan and literally considered naming our daughter [name]Perry[/name] (hadn’t really decided how to spell it yet) after the band’s original lead singer [name]Steve[/name] [name]Perry[/name]. Of course the husband vetoed it right away, but I happen to love the name. Personally, I don’t think it needs to be the nn for anything; it can stand alone
