Newly found family names

After an interesting conversation with my mother-in-law, I started researching DH’s family. Aside from having family in the US before 1700, both Dutch and English, and being related to [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Washington[/name_m] - his mother’s sister is a x-times great-grandmother - I found these names along with a zillion Johns, [name_m]Williams[/name_m], Jameses and a few generations of Jesses.

[name_m]Male[/name_m]:
[name_m]Hendrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Johannes[/name_m]
Chapel - I kind of think this is cool
Neri - ?
[name_m]Philomon[/name_m]
Sussex
[name_m]Orrin[/name_m]
[name_m]Irwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Cecil[/name_m]
[name_u]Perry[/name_u]
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] (first and middle)
[name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Washington[/name_m] (first and middle)
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_u]Howard[/name_u] - there were a couple of these, they are both family surnames from Virgina.

Female:
Sadina
Mabelie
Xoa ? Has anyone ever heard this one? [name_f]MIL[/name_f] said it was pronounced Ex-oh-ah, this was her mother’s name. I only knew her as [name_f]Marie[/name_f].
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u]
[name_f]Lovinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Effie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (3 generations!)
Million -!
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]
[name_f]Charity[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]

What a great list! I wish mine was that interesting.

[name_m]Hendrick[/name_m], [name_m]Philomon[/name_m], Sussex, and [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] are great!

Of the female list, I love Sadina, [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_f]Lovinia[/name_f], and [name_f]Effie[/name_f]. (I wonder what it is short for, if anything?)

Lots of great names here-- family history is so interesting! [name_m]Irwin[/name_m] stood out on the male names because that’s a family name in my family (we had a [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_m]Irwin[/name_m] which is close to [name_f]Lovinia[/name_f] in your line). [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] is my favorite female name (love it with the nn [name_u]Min[/name_u] or [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] too).

[name_m]Hendrick[/name_m] - cool one
Chapel - I like that too! very neat
[name_m]Philomon[/name_m] - [name_m]Philemon[/name_m] is a book of the Bible. Interesting one!

Sadina - interesting, not that I like “sad” but [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] would be a great nn
Mabelie - that just sounds like a nn for [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
Xoa - weird! never heard of it. I’ve met a [name_f]Xia[/name_f] before but she pronounced it z’eye’-uh (zy-uh)
[name_f]Minerva[/name_f] - great one
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u] - beautiful!
[name_f]Lovinia[/name_f] - interesting swap. I’ve heard [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] and [name_f]Livinia[/name_f] but never [name_f]Lovinia[/name_f].
Million - wow, that’s an interesting one!

I adore [name_m]Cecil[/name_m]. [name_f]Effie[/name_f] - how Hunger Games!

I feel like I got shafted by my ancestors after seeing those cool names!

[name_m]Male[/name_m]:
[name_m]Hendrick[/name_m] - love! I know a little [name_m]Henrik[/name_m]
[name_m]Johannes[/name_m] - we have this in our family tree. Not for me.
Chapel - I think this is really cool!
Neri - Sounds kind of Biblical
[name_m]Philomon[/name_m] - weird
Sussex - cool, but the fact that sex is in the name is a no go for me
[name_m]Orrin[/name_m] - I love, but spelled [name_m]Oren[/name_m]
[name_m]Irwin[/name_m] - not for me
[name_m]Cecil[/name_m] - "
[name_u]Perry[/name_u] - I like for a girl
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] - "

Not so much…
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m] (first and middle)
[name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Washington[/name_m] (first and middle)
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_u]Howard[/name_u] - there were a couple of these, they are both family surnames from Virgina.

Female:
Sadina - very unique and still usable
Mabelie - love <3
Xoa - so bizarre! I have only seen this with Vietnamese people!
Minerva - sounds so “evil queen” to me
Cora Bell - sounds like a modern name!
Lovinia - interesting
Effie Jane (3 generations!) - Effie is a town in MN, so I would never use it.
Million - again, how bizarre!
Magdalena - sigh my SO would never go for it, but it is so beautiful
Charity - Puritans?
Rosa Lee - loooooove
