Question, my wife and I are planning on raising our son to be bilingual. One possible name for us is [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. My question is, in her native [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] is the more common spelling. Does this matter or is it best to stick with the traditional English spelling?
Go with the spelling you both prefer. I personally prefer [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m].
I think either one works. I’m used to seeing [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. If you plan on using the nickname [name_u]Nico[/name_u], [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] makes sense.
