Hi everyone,
I’m sorry I haven’t followed up on our weekly eliminations, we have been quite busy here. I have read all your replies, so thank you for those. Now, our little boy could be born any moment, and we’re still debating his name. It will be either [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Nick[/name_u]’ or [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Sam[/name_u]’.
Which one is your favourite with our daughter [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]’s name?
Thanks a lot!
NB: We saw quite some replies mentioning a biblical connection between [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. Thank you for pointing that out, but we’re not religious and we live in a very secular place. We’ve never read the bible and neither have any of our friends, so that’s really not something anyone close to us will notice.

I love [name_u]Sam[/name_u]! It is so sweet and friendly sounding. I know they are both common but I feel like I know way more Nicks.
Between [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] is my personal favorite. It’s so charm and friendly… But I prefer [name_u]Nico[/name_u] over [name_u]Nick[/name_u].
Plus, with [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], I much prefer [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. It sounds warm together, does it make sense? [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] both have soft sounds, but [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] it’s a bit more sharpy than [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].
And I really like the simplicity of [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. It’s nice. I like to say it out loud. [name_u]Sam[/name_u]! It rolls in your tongue. -ck in [name_u]Nick[/name_u] is not that easy.

I voted for [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] because I love the soft sounds and it’s lovely with [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], but the Biblical association would keep me from using it.
Samuel! [name_u]Sam[/name_u] feels so sweet, warm, and friendly. It goes so nicely with [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] too.
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] is also lovely, but I’m not a fan of [name_u]Nick[/name_u], I’ve just known so, so many. I do love [name_u]Nico[/name_u] though!
You could always take both names with you and decide which one suits him more!
good luck!!

Samuel is the child of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] in the Old Testament
Someone British once told me [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] sounds like “knicker-less” and it stuck with ever since, so I pick [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]! But they’re both lovely
Great taste!
Agreed, [name_u]Sam[/name_u] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] have the same warm, cozy feel! Very sweet together
