[name_m]Hi[/name_m]
My husband is Welsh and we have chosen a Welsh name for our 2nd son. Cadyryeith [name_u]James[/name_u]. We have several ideas for a nickname and haven’t settled on one yet. They are C.J. , [name_m]Rye[/name_m] or [name_m]Ry[/name_m], Ryeith and also the no nickname option. I’m looking for some feedback on the best option. His older brother’s name is Ronen.
Could you please explain how to pronounce?
I would just use CJ.
The name is pronounced Kad- ur-ry-eth .
I think Ryeith is the most intuitive and most pleasing sound. I wouldn’t go with CJ. You’re giving your little one such a bold and impactful name, why disguise it with something so run-of-the-mill like CJ. Ryeith has a nice sound and still an intrigue factor. Caddy I suppose would be a possibility as well.
I like [name_m]Rye[/name_m] or [name_m]Ry[/name_m], I think they would come really naturally. I also like Ryeith.
Really dislike CJ, but [name_m]Ry[/name_m] or Ryeith are lovely.
