hi, my husband and i love the name [name]Juliet[/name] but im not so keen
( unless she ends up being a tomboy then i think its ok) on jules as a NM.
I was thinking that [name]Ettie[/name] or lettie would make a good nickname for juliet.
would like to know other peoples thoughts on this
I think those are great nickname choices! And, really anything can work as a nickname if that’s what you use regularly (some nicknames aren’t related to the formal name at all). If you want a stronger connection between her name and her nickname, though, you might consider spelling her name [name]Juliette[/name]. I think [name]Etta[/name] would also be a fabulous nn option!
[name]Lettie[/name] is really cute.
[name]Ettie[/name] or [name]Lettie[/name] could definitely work! I prefer [name]Ettie[/name] or even [name]Etta[/name]. And if you’re scared of [name]Jules[/name], one of my best friends name’s is [name]Julia[/name]- no one calls her [name]Jules[/name], though we did call her Juju when we were little.
I love [name]Juliet[/name]!AND I love [name]Jules[/name]!
Here are some other NN (I am a NN [name]Queen[/name]!)’
[name]Julie[/name]
[name]Etty[/name]
[name]Etta[/name]
Lietta
[name]Lili[/name]
[name]Lee[/name]
Juju
[name]Letty[/name]
Litty
[name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Ettie[/name] definitely works with [name]Juliette[/name]…I much prefer it to [name]Jules[/name] too!! (:
They work! I think that [name]Lettie[/name] is adorable on a little girl, and [name]Etta[/name] is great on an adult.
My college roommate was a [name]Juliet[/name] and her nn was [name]Julie[/name]. Frankly, nns arise once the baby’s born, once you hold her. Still, she may introduce herself by or her friends will call her something totally different from what you envisioned. It’s her call, really. [name]Juliet[/name] is lovely – no daughter will resent her mother for the name. It ages well – it works for little girls and wise old ladies and every stage in between. Go for it!
