nickname for Atticus?

[name]Hi[/name] all, I’ve been a long time lurker and was hoping you guys could help me out! I really love the name [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] or [name]Silas[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] but am hesitant to use [name]Atticus[/name] because of the lack of nicknames, even though I think I am leaning more towards that name at the moment. I would hate for him to go by [name]Atti[/name] (he would get lost in a sea of Addies, Maddies, Abbies etc). Is there anything you can think of that I’m missing? Also, which of the two names do you prefer with the last name [name]Finn[/name]?

Thanks all!

The first thing that popped into my head was [name]Gus[/name]. I know [name]Atticus[/name] ends in “cus” not “gus” but I think it could work. I have also heard of [name]Ace[/name] as a n.n. for [name]Atticus[/name].

FWIW I love [name]Atticus[/name] and I think it works without a nickname (I prefer it over [name]Silas[/name])

This may be the Aussie in me, but I would call him Atto

I do prefer [name]Atticus[/name] over [name]Silas[/name], and it works great with the ln [name]Finn[/name]

Thanks!

@amanda- I never thought of using [name]Gus[/name] as a nickname for [name]Atticus[/name], but I love it! You really think it could work? I like [name]Ace[/name] as well but [name]Gus[/name] is too cute!

@allaclaire- Thanks for the suggestion! Atto is cute, it reminds me of [name]Otto[/name] which I love. I’ll definitely have to take it under consideration!

I love the idea of [name]Gus[/name] as a nn!

I like [name]Atticus[/name] a lot (though personally, I feel it’s on the trendy side). I actually like [name]Silas[/name] as a whole name better, but the [name]Gus[/name] nn really would be a selling point for me.
