Nickname for Henry.

If we have a boy, we’re probably going to name him [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. It’s a good name as is, but when it comes to a nickname, I like Han (yes, like Han Solo…) Husband doesn’t like that so much and prefers [name_m]Hank[/name_m]. Outside of a four-year-old wearing an oversized ballcap, I think [name_m]Hank[/name_m] reminds me of an overweight old man.

I need convincing! What do you all think?

I love [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I feel neutral about [name_m]Hank[/name_m]. Personally, I would most likely not use a nickname for [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

[name_m]Hank[/name_m] is fine! Kind of cute. I love the suggest of [name_m]Huck[/name_m] though!! [name_m]Rye[/name_m] is another possibility

[name_m]Hank[/name_m] is adorable, but [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is even better!

[name_m]Hank[/name_m] always reminds me of the '80s cartoon Dungeons & Dragons, so I always love that particular piece of nostalgia. [name_m]Harry[/name_m] is also cute.

[name_m]Enzo[/name_m] is a possible nickname as well as it is the italian version of [name_m]Henry[/name_m]

I like [name_m]Harry[/name_m] as a nn. But [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is only two syllables so you don’t have to have a nn if you don’t want.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Henny[/name_f].

I don’t really get why this is in the girls section :stuck_out_tongue:

I like [name_m]Harry[/name_m] as a nickname, but in all honesty, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] really doesn’t need a nickname.

Rhy or [name_f]Hen[/name_f]. Lol idk.

Parents usually make nicknames completely different to the names. Like my name is [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]… parents call me beetlebug. x.x

I agree that [name_m]Henry[/name_m] doesn’t “need” a nickname. I thought my girls didn’t “need” a nickname too. But low and behold they each have one. They didn’t show up until after they were born and their personalities shone through. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is [name_f]Nanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is [name_f]May[/name_f]. It’s wise to search options, but I’d wait and see what fits him best. I love Han, [name_m]Hank[/name_m] is grandpa like but you never know- it might fit him well. I also like [name_m]Huck[/name_m] and [name_m]Harry[/name_m]. [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is a little more burly and [name_m]Harry[/name_m] is more endearing. He could possibly have all as nicknames from certain people or stages in his life. Or just go by [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I like the idea of using a variation of [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but that I wouldn’t force at all. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is said as [name_f]Anne[/name_f]-ah but thanks to Frozen in good fun we call her [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] said as Ahn-ah and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] turns into [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]. Of course it’s a family thing, and they aren’t introduced as those.
