I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]! [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Meg[/name_f] and [name_f]May[/name_f] are also common nicknames for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. I’ve also seen [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] because the [name_m]French[/name_m] form [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] means daisy. In the same vein, you could use [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] which is [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]'s meaning. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Susie[/name_f] are a bit similar but it’s workable to me- my sister and I are [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] and [name_f]Kristen[/name_f], so repeated endings don’t bother me the way they do some people.

I’ll have to thing about [name_f]Etta[/name_f]. It’s short and sweet.

Great names! I voted for [name_f]Greta[/name_f] just because it’s a bit different. I would probably do a nn that doesn’t end in an EE sound-- so [name_f]Mae[/name_f]/[name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Meg[/name_f] would be my top picks.

I love [name_f]Peggy[/name_f].

I really like [name_f]Margot[/name_f]/[name_f]Margo[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]

I really like [name_f]Greta[/name_f], but would suggest [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as well.

Voted for [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], but I also like [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]Meg[/name_f] and [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]. Not a big fan of [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Margie[/name_f].

[name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Grete[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] or [name_f]Meg[/name_f] are my choices. [name_f]Grete[/name_f]/[name_f]Greta[/name_f] or [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]/[name_f]Meg[/name_f] best.

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is my favorite, but I don’t think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Susie[/name_f] are too close. If you love it, use it!

My sister and I grew up with rhyming nicknames and I remember everyone thought it was adorable, so I wouldn’t worry too much about [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Susie[/name_f]. If it really bothers you though, [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is pretty. Go with what feels right

I voted for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] based on a personal lesson I learned. When my daughter, [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], was born, we decided on the nickname [name_f]Mamie[/name_f]. It was cute, and we loved it in theory. But it wasn’t intuitive enough and we had to explain too many times that it was short for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (and that it wasn’t Mammy, that we had not made it up, etc…). After a couple of months we just started calling her [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and from there, [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] is a lovely nickname with positive associations that we had simply discarded in the beginning because it wasn’t as fresh as some nicknames. When it came down to using it on an actual person though, we wanted the connection to [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] to be obvious and stuck with an old charmer over a more surprising alternative. [name_m]Just[/name_m] something worth considering…

The queen of Denmark is called Margrethe (a version of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]) but, apparently, her family calls her [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I thought I would share. I voted for [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] because I find it so dainty and cute. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] it’s also cute but I think it’s less intuitive.
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f] is gorgeous, btw! Good luck!

I love the [name_m]French[/name_m] connection of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] being the meaning of [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]…I also had a great-aunt who started life as [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], but her name was Americanized to [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] & she ended up going by [name_f]May[/name_f] (very appropriate as she was born in [name_f]May[/name_f]). I’ve also heard [name_f]Meggie[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] as well. Good luck w/whatever you choose!

I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], & [name_f]Meg[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is also a nice option. I think [name_f]Susie[/name_f] and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Susie[/name_f] and [name_f]Meg[/name_f] sound great together, but I think any of them would work with [name_f]Susie[/name_f]

I love both [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and voted for both. I don’t think [name_f]Susie[/name_f] and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] are too close. I also like [name_f]Meg[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] and [name_f]May[/name_f].

We plan on using [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Mara[/name_f] or [name_f]Mari[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] works fine and it’s my favorite. Otherwise I like [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Greta[/name_f].

My favourite is [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], though I also love it as a name on its own. My second choice would be [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], then [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. My favourite you haven’t listed is [name_f]Margo[/name_f].

I personally believe [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a really, really, really, good choice!!! It’s a little old-fashioned

But at the same time really, really, modern, and a bit uncommon, it’s a really good, nice and pretty name.

This name has a lot of pros and one of them is it comes with a lot of nicknames,

but doesn’t make things at all complicated to choose from,

and everyone know’s they’re a nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

I think for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] you could go [name_f]Margot[/name_f]

(Needs the silent ‘T’, because that’s how you spell those names, and the nickname has a [name_m]French[/name_m] origin),

or [name_f]Peg[/name_f]/[name_f]Peggy[/name_f]. Really cool, and many more.

However, this is probably more for her as a child, cute little nicknames,

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (to those who don’t know, sometimes can be confusing),

which is a legitimate nickname for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] as [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is derived from the [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling ‘[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]’, which means [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (flower),

and is also one of the meanings of the name [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].

or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] (can’t be spelt with a ‘Y’, only ‘I-E’, type it in anywhere, it comes up with the misspelled line),

Or [name_f]May[/name_f], or [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
