My fiance and I are pretty set on the name [name_u]Parker[/name_u] for either a girl or a boy. We are not finding out the sex until the baby is born, so I’m gld we picked something that works either way. And I have also loved unisex names; I have one as well and I love it.
Please no post about how you hate the name [name_u]Parker[/name_u] for a girl, that seems to be a trend on baby naming websites. I don’t really care if you hate it, we love it and it’s our baby!
If we have a boy we are thinking [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_m]Knight[/name_m]. My fiance is a comic book fanatic, that is where he got [name_u]Parker[/name_u] from ([name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u]), and it was the only superhero name I liked. His favorite character is Batman, but I am not a fan of either [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] or [name_m]Wayne[/name_m]. So that is where he got [name_m]Knight[/name_m] from, the Dark [name_m]Knight[/name_m]. Without context the name sounds a little pretentious, but that’s okay; I still think it’s cute.
If we have a girl I am pretty set on [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. It is my middle name, which is the same as my mothers, and I have always said if I had a little I would pass it down to her. I love having that connection with my mom. Fiance isn’t sold on it, but I told him he picked the first so tough luck lol.
My only concern is that I can’t think of a good nickname for [name_u]Parker[/name_u]. I don’t really care for [name_m]Park[/name_m], or [name_m]Parks[/name_m], which are just a few of the ones I found. I know that nicknames tend to come naturally, and we would find something that fit, but i just wanted some opinions.
The only one I really liked is, if it is a girl, calling her P. His grandmothers name is [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f], and she goes by Ms. P, so I thought that was a cute connection too.
Ooooh, [name_u]Parker[/name_u] is a hard one to nickname. I don’t think you need one at all, it’s a short and simple name, but here are some suggestions since you want one. I often suggest using a nickname that comes from the middle name or combining the first and middle name, but [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_m]Knight[/name_m] (handsome combo btw!) doesn’t really give you many options! From [name_f]Louise[/name_f] you could get [name_u]Lou[/name_u], [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], Lissy or [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]. For a boy, [name_u]Pax[/name_u] or [name_u]Ari[/name_u] could work, taken from the “Pa” and “ar” bits of the name. For a girl maybe [name_f]Kiki[/name_f], from the “ke” part? [name_u]Kerry[/name_u] could work for either gender, but it’s almost as long as [name_u]Parker[/name_u] itself and is a bit dated too.
Hopefully someone else will have some better suggestions!
Ohh thank you! I actually do like the idea of taking the nickname from the middle name.I agree that [name_u]Parker[/name_u] is already a short name, so it doesn’t really need a nickname. I was just thinking about options. My nickname as a child had absolutely nothing to do with my name, so there is always that too. We could just call him/her something joking once and it sticks. Thank you for your suggestions, they have helped a lot!
I love [name_u]Parker[/name_u] on either a boy or girl. This is super tough to come up with nicknames. I’m not the biggest fan of “P” just because it sounds like pee. My suggestions might not be any better but I’ll have a go.
The one that came to mind first was Patch, or as a pp said, [name_u]Pax[/name_u] also works! I’m not quite sure where Patch came from as it doesn’t obviously derive from [name_u]Parker[/name_u], but it could still work. Congratulations!
I would like to tell you there both BEAUTIFUL names. I’m in love with unique names. Have 2 boys a [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] and [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_m]Wayne[/name_m]. I’m also a fan of the super hero world. Batman is my favorite. My blood father reached out to me 15 years later after my mom left him. Anywho he told me that my half sister whom I never met except when I was a baby. Who had a little girl named [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_u]Sky[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] thought u would like my story. Here r a few things we call him parter, parcor (not sure if that’s correct spelling) spider-bat but none of the are short n those are only the ones that go with the names.
[name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_m]Knight[/name_m]: a bit of a stretch but how about:
PK
Piki (from PK)
[name_m]Archie[/name_m] (Ark- [name_f]Arkie[/name_f]-[name_m]Archie[/name_m])
[name_f]Nix[/name_f]
[name_m]Kirk[/name_m] (parKER Knight
[name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]:
[name_f]Pippy[/name_f]
Pipi-[name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] (pARker LOuise
I’d struggle to think of any additional nicknames other than the suggestion already given, but I just wanted to comment on how stunning both the combos you have come up with are!
I named my baby girl [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_u]Kay[/name_u]. She is only 2 months old but we love her name. Some of my family hates it and some love it. Whenever we get calls from the doctor or anything they say “he” but that’s to be expected lol
I’m also struggling to figure out a nickname for her!
My daughter is named [name_u]Parker[/name_u] and her nickname is [name_m]Parks[/name_m]. It’s not one we use often, but it’s her preference when we do use a shortened version of her name. Some of her friends and adults have tried to use [name_u]Park[/name_u] and she doesn’t like that and corrects them to [name_m]Parks[/name_m]. Other than that, she loves her name and we get a ton of compliments on it!
