I love the name [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. However, I think it is a bit short for a first name. (I just prefer longer first names.)
Anybody have an idea for a name that [name_f]Tess[/name_f] could be short for/be a nickname for?
Thank you!

I think [name_f]Tess[/name_f] has been most commonly used as a nickname for [name_f]Therese[/name_f]/[name_f]Theresa[/name_f].
I’m actually struggling to think of any other names that could yield [name_f]Tess[/name_f] as a nickname…
I thought this thread was going to ask what [name_f]Tess[/name_f] could be nicknamed to! So finding long names with [name_f]Tess[/name_f] as a nickname seems much more feasible. I’ve always liked Tessera, which means “fourth” in Greek but then I think I would have trouble using it on not a fourth child… [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] variants like [name_f]Teresia[/name_f] and [name_f]Teresita[/name_f] might work, or possibly [name_f]Esther[/name_f]/[name_f]Estera[/name_f]/[name_f]Hester[/name_f] or [name_f]Estella[/name_f] at a pinch? This is harder than I thought it would be!
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] or [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] could work well, I think. I think [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is a beautiful name :).
[name_f]Quintessa[/name_f] comes to mind. I can mean “fifth born,” “born in the fifth month” and “essence.” Quintessa - Meaning of Quintessa, What does Quintessa mean?
The Greek names [name_f]Tesia[/name_f] and Tesira would be good options. [name_f]Tesla[/name_f] is also an option, though I’m not sure how well that one works as a first name these days.
[name_f]Teresa[/name_f]
Tesslyn
Contessa
My favorites are Thérèse and [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], and I love the suggestion of [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f]. Also:
[name_f]Thomasine[/name_f]
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]
[name_f]Themis[/name_f] or [name_f]Thetis[/name_f]
[name_f]Thalassa[/name_f]
My favorite is [name_f]Therese[/name_f], but it could ba nn for:
I think Technically, it Could work on any girl name that begins with T and has an s or s sound, or a name that ends with an s or soft c sound or ends with an st sound. Sorry that’s confusing.
[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]
[name_f]Tempest[/name_f]
[name_f]Temperance[/name_f]
[name_u]Tracy[/name_u]
[name_f]Tasha[/name_f]
Tarys/Terys
[name_f]Tanis[/name_f](tanith variation? I am gussing)
I love Contessa, however some might find it a bit pretentious.
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Theresa[/name_f]/[name_f]Teresa[/name_f], [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f], [name_f]Tessie[/name_f]
[name_f]Teresa[/name_f]/[name_f]Theresa[/name_f]/Thérèse- I like [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] the best. I pronounce it teh-REHS-uh.
[name_f]Quintessa[/name_f]- Not my style, but it could work.
[name_f]Tesora[/name_f]- Means “treasure” in Spanish. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]!
[name_f]Thessaly[/name_f]- Cute, but a bit of a stetch.
[name_f]Tesla[/name_f]- This is actually very close to my name, [name_f]Tekla[/name_f]. [name_f]Tesla[/name_f] is a scientist and a car.
My favorites are [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] and [name_f]Tesora[/name_f].
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]/[name_f]Thomasin[/name_f]!
