[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I really like the name [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] or [name_u]Blaze[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] for my baby boy coming in [name_u]March[/name_u]. The problem is my husband doesn’t like it unless we can come up with a nickname. I don’t like [name_u]Tony[/name_u] or Ant. Any ideas? Thanks!
My first thought was [name_u]Blue[/name_u]
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u]/[name_u]Blaze[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m]…
[name_u]Bo[/name_u]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_u]Bay[/name_u]
[name_u]Bobby[/name_u]
[name_m]Bear[/name_m]
[name_u]Billy[/name_u]
[name_f]Bee[/name_f]
[name_u]Sonny[/name_u]
[name_m]Ace[/name_m]
[name_m]Banner[/name_m]
Base
[name_m]Blade[/name_m]
[name_u]Blaise[/name_u] is a cool name, you could call him B ([name_f]Bee[/name_f]). But honestly, [name_u]Blaise[/name_u] is one syllable and short enough, could your husband call him a pet name like buddy, or just see if something evolves on its own?
Some names don’t come with nicknames so pet names evolve instead- my SO is Ll0yd @rthur. His mom called him [name_u]Bo[/name_u] (short for Bozo the clown because he was a very silly kid). His uncle called him [name_m]Lord[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] because is sounds similar. The thing about pet names is that you usually lose them as the child grows up (sometimes my [name_f]MIL[/name_f] calls him [name_u]Bo[/name_u] and it feels a little weird at this point in life)
If you need a nickname, maybe switch the first and middle name, or go by the middle name and use Ant or [name_u]Tony[/name_u]?
No judgement - I will 100% be choosing names with good nickname potential so I understand the desire. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you can figure out something that works for you.
