I haven’t been on here in Ages. Newborn twins and a toddler keep you [name]BUSY[/name]!
Looking for some suggestions for nicknames for our little [name]Cormac[/name]. The obvious one is [name]Mac[/name], but I thought the Berries may have some cute/fresh ideas. The original plan was for “[name]Mac[/name]”, and we do use that one online, simply because it’s quicker to type. But, we rarely call him that in real life. Actually, nothing may ever fit, in my mind. I’ve always been a full-name kind of gal. And, I [name]Love[/name] [name]Cormac[/name] as a whole. The only thing I find myself calling him once in a while, other than [name]Cormac[/name], is “Cormy/Cormie” and I have No idea where that one came from. His whole name is [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name].
What are your thoughts on possible nicknames? Which would you use?
(I’ve also posted about his sister’s name over in the Girls’ Names.)
I love the nn [name]Mack[/name], other than that I would use [name]Cor[/name] sounds more boy than others of it’s type. [name]Corie[/name]/[name]Cory[/name] would sound too much like the fn [name]Corey[/name], and Cormie/Cormy I just think “worm/wormy” strange but that’s what comes to mind. Although we can’t always help what nn’s come into being. I don’t have kids, but my closest example would be my dog. His nn is [name]Gen[/name]/[name]Gennie[/name] sounds like [name]Jen[/name]/[name]Jenny[/name] to me which I didn’t plan on nn-ing my very male bulldog a female nn, but it’s just what came out, haha, I know how that goes. You may not ever get rid of the nn Cormie now that you’ve used it, and maybe that’s okay.
I think [name]Corie[/name] or [name]Cor[/name] would work best you can also use Macky or [name]Micky[/name] might work, this might be out there, but in my mind I here momo, but that is really just a pet sounding name and you would probably be the only one to call him that
I grew up knowing a [name]Cory[/name], so [name]Cory[/name] is decidedly male in my brain And I like [name]Cory[/name] a lot!
What about Macko? It’s a little silly sounding but i like that. It kinda reminds me of the way my Irish friends put an ‘o’ on the end. [name]Declan[/name]= Decco, [name]Anthony[/name]=Anto.
I really like [name]Mack[/name] a lot as well.
