Nickname names?

im really liking nickname names!

im having my second boy, my first is named [name]Max[/name]. not maxwell, not maximillion, just [name]MAX[/name]!

i like the nicknames, [name]Gus[/name], [name]Huck[/name], [name]Tuck[/name].

i know [name]Tucker[/name] would be a way to get to tuck. what do you think of this? would it go with [name]Max[/name]? and im aware of the word it rhymes with! but wouldnt want to use [name]Tuck[/name] on its own.

what could i use to get to [name]Huck[/name]? Not sure im brave enough for [name]Huckleberry[/name]!

any other suggestions?
thanks!

I think I’ve seen [name]Huxley[/name] somewhere, I guess you could use Hucksley but [name]Huxley[/name] looks better and could still be called [name]Huck[/name].

[name]Tucker[/name] is cute!

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Gus[/name] especially! [name]Huck[/name] and [name]Tuck[/name] are pretty cute, too. I love [name]August[/name], [name]Gustav[/name], and [name]Atticus[/name] to get to [name]Gus[/name], if you don’t want to use it on its own… I think you could do [name]Huxley[/name] nn [name]Huck[/name], too. The only way I know of to get to [name]Tuck[/name] is [name]Tucker[/name]… I guess you could use Tuckerton… I think that’s the name of a town in my state, but it’s a bit placey/surnamey…

Good luck!

I like nick name names too! I think there are a lot that can stand on their own (like [name]Max[/name]), and there are a lot I like better than their full versions. As long as the nn isn’t too childish, I think it is ok to use just the nn part. From your list, I think [name]Huck[/name] and [name]Gus[/name] can stand on their own. I’m not as big a fan of [name]Tuck[/name], but it would be ok on its own too. I definitely like [name]Huck[/name] better than [name]Huxley[/name]. Since your first son has a short, one syllable name, I think it would be cute to use that same style for baby 2.

I think [name]Charles[/name] would work for [name]Huck[/name] seeing as [name]Chuck[/name] is a common nn for [name]Charles[/name]. [name]Just[/name] drop the C from [name]Chuck[/name] and you have [name]Huck[/name].

I love [name]Lex[/name] by itself. Usually I prefer the full names with no nicknames. I adore [name]Lex[/name] though and would use it by itself.

[name]Gus[/name] could be short for [name]Angus[/name]?

[name]Just[/name] so you know, there is an author named [name]Tucker[/name] [name]Max[/name] who’s fairly popular - his book “I [name]Hope[/name] They Serve Beer In Hell” was made into a movie a couple of years ago. A lot of people find his work to be offensive and misogynistic - personally, I appreciate the comedy in it, but I’m probably in the minority among women. If you are in the U.S., a LOT of people (particularly men from their late teens to early 30’s) will know this reference, and it may not be one that’s desirable for you. [name]Huck[/name] or [name]Gus[/name] might be better with [name]Max[/name].
