What do you think of [name_f]Ada[/name_f] as a nickname for @udrey?
This is one of those cases where I really don’t think it would make much sense to give [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] a nickname. Especially not a another established name that’s the same length as [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Addy[/name_f] would make more sense
I agree with larkub!
I second everything [name_f]Larissa[/name_f] said. I also have [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] on my long list, no nickname.
Why nickname the lovely [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]? It isn’t long and has a Y ending that many nicknames strive for.
I think I could work, though I prefer to keep the same vowel sound… eg. I think [name_u]Audie[/name_u] (sp?) is cute, though I guess it doesn’t shorten the name any. Of course, neither does [name_f]Ada[/name_f]…
I agree with the others–[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] doesn’t need shortening! Especially when [name_f]Ada[/name_f] sounds just as long and really doesn’t sound anything like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. If you love [name_f]Ada[/name_f] so much, just use [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. I even think [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is fine if it is important to keep [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]…
[name_m]How[/name_m] is [name_f]Ada[/name_f] a nickname for [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]? It has fewer letters, but it isn’t any shorter. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is one of those names you can’t really nickname.
I thought of [name_f]Ada[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] because I realized they share the same root meaning of ‘noble’ but maybe it’s a bit off since no one seems to think it natural to use it
