Our little one is named [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. We often call him Raphie, but the spelling seems clumsy. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you spell this nickname?
Thanks!

I actually know a [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] who goes almost exclusively by [name_m]Rafi[/name_m]! And I think [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] would work just as well for a [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. Or Raphi? Good luck
I think Raphie/Raphi is fine. Depending how much you use it, it could mostly be verbal and might not even be written down much.
Raphie is fine, although [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] would be my assumption.
I think that both spellings are lovely, however I think [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] looks nicer and neater when written.
See when it comes to [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] I prefer [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] because I like [name_m]Raff[/name_m] or [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] but I think Raphi works too
Thanks guys! I think I prefer [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] myself, I was just worried it would be weird since the full name has the ph! I appreciate your input!
I think [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] is a fine nn for [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] - no stranger than [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] nn [name_m]Steve[/name_m] or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
I think Raphy or Raphey looks cute. [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] is very nice too
Raphy is my preference, but it really doesn’t matter. I assume you wouldn’t write a nickname much?
I agree, [name_m]Rafi[/name_m] is the tidiest spelling and I like it. The “ie” endings feel very feminine to me. Raphi is what I would use because I like the consistency with the way his full name is spelled. In fact, if it were me I’d probably shorten it to Raph, which sound strong and sharp, and verbally use Raphi when buttering him up.
