Does anyone have longer names they like, but hate the nickname or the other way around?
I like [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] but hate [name_u]Gabby[/name_u], love [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], but hate [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and on the flip side I don’t like [name_m]Charles[/name_m] but love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], and I don’t really like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] but I love [name_u]Frankie[/name_u].
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think you could use these names and avoid the versions that you dislike, or would you just give these names a miss all together?

[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] could be [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] or [name_u]Ricky[/name_u].
[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] could be short for [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Francine[/name_f], [name_f]Francisca[/name_f], or [name_f]Franca[/name_f].
Short names, with 1 or 2 syllables, can easily avoid nicknames.
Girls, full names with bad nicknames:
I love [name_f]Isidora[/name_f] and [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is all right but I hate [name_f]Dora[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Callie[/name_f] is cute but Caz and [name_f]Carrie[/name_f] are not. In AU she’d probably get Caz automatically and in the US, probably [name_f]Carrie[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] but [name_f]Trixie[/name_f] is gross.
Girls, nicknames with no likable full names:
[name_f]Suzy[/name_f] is cute, [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]/[name_f]Suzette[/name_f] not so much. ([name_f]Susie[/name_f] has [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] but to justify the z in [name_f]Suzy[/name_f] is hard…)
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_f]Tillie[/name_f] - [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is just-okay. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] to [name_u]Billie[/name_u] seems to confuse people. I don’t really like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Clothilde[/name_f] is… well it’s [name_f]Clothilde[/name_f].
Boys, full names with bad nicknames:
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t love Giddy. Can I enforce [name_m]Deon[/name_m]?
