Hi, everyone. [name_f]My[/name_f] little girl is going through a nickname phase and we gave her a bit of a hard name for it. Her name is [name_f]Anya[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], we have tons of nicknames for [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Anya[/name_f] is not so easy. Short names are hard to nickname, but my niece [name_u]Clare[/name_u] goes by GummyClare so I thought maybe we could come up with something lke that, or wth both names together, but I can’t think of anything and I thought maybe I could ask the people who helped me name her in the first place. TIA
Annie

Yawnie (ya know, if she’s tired)
How about [name_f]Ani[/name_f] (ah-nee)?
I have an [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] and we call her [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f], which I think is rather fabulous
Anya and [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f] are both Russian nicknames for [name_f]Anna[/name_f], so this isn’t as tenous as it might sound!

[name_f]Aya[/name_f]
A
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] ([name_f]Anya[/name_f]’s meaning)
Nym
[name_u]Ami[/name_u]
[name_u]Allie[/name_u]
Ann
Besides the obvious [name_f]Annie[/name_f] (which I love), and the wonderful suggestion of [name_f]Anoushka[/name_f]:
Noni
[name_f]Nim[/name_f]
[name_f]Nan[/name_f]
[name_f]Nanette[/name_f]
[name_f]Nancy[/name_f] (these 3 all traditional nns for [name_f]Ann[/name_f] names)
And some general nicknames that could be used for anyone (do any of these strike a chord?): [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_f]Bunny[/name_f], [name_f]Bunty[/name_f], Tootie, [name_f]Sissy[/name_f], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_f]Missy[/name_f] (I like [name_f]Missy[/name_f] as a nn for any little girl).
[name_f]Ammy[/name_f], [name_f]Milly[/name_f], Mimi, Mem, [name_f]Mim[/name_f] (link to [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]).
And some people who take these names beyond the nickname:
Mem [name_u]Fox[/name_u] is an Australian writer
[name_f]Missy[/name_f] Higgins, singer songwriter
[name_f]Sissy[/name_f] Spacek, actor
Tootie is the youngest sister in the [name_f]Judy[/name_f] [name_u]Garland[/name_u] movie Meet Me in St [name_m]Louis[/name_m].
Annie
[name_f]Onnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Annushka[/name_f] (my friend is [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and sometimes I call her this for fun lol)
[name_f]Nani[/name_f]
Yaya
[name_f]Aya[/name_f]
Yaya was my first thought as mentioned above
[name_f]Amy[/name_f] (linking A.-Me(lia)).
AA or double A
My name is very close to [name_f]Anya[/name_f]; here are some of the nicknames I’ve been called:
Yaya
[name_f]Ann[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
(You can pretty much go with anything starting with [name_f]Ann[/name_f]- ([name_f]Anoushka[/name_f], [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Anniston[/name_f], etc.)
