Guess it depends on how you say it? I prefer the Brazilian pronunciation in general, and would 100% use Liesey for it (it’s said ah-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-see in Brazilian Portuguese), but in English I probably wouldn’t use a nn at all. [name_f]Ally[/name_f] and Lissy aren’t any shorter than [name_f]Alice[/name_f], really. Oooh, Cici/[name_f]Cece[/name_f] that someone posted is really cute, though. I might use that. I’m a massive Ceci/Cici fan.
A simple [name_m]Al[/name_m] would be a great and cute nickname!
I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is too pretty to have a nickname! But if I had to pick, it would be [name_f]Ally[/name_f] or [name_f]Alsie[/name_f]
I have a friend called [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] who goes by CiCi, I suppose you could use [name_f]CeCe[/name_f] for [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or Lissy is super cute too.
My best friend is [name_f]Alice[/name_f], and sometime I call her [name_u]Ali[/name_u] to annoy her. But really, it’s a really short name, it doesn’t need a nickname.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] doesn’t need a nickname imo, it’s already a short name.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] is my absolute top pick for a future daughter, I would call her [name_f]Alsie[/name_f] and my S/O would just call her [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
In my opinion nicknames are as much for showing affection as they are for actually shortening the name, so I don’t mind that [name_f]Alsie[/name_f] is ‘as long’ as [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
I have a 9 year old niece named [name_f]Alice[/name_f] who goes only by [name_u]Allie[/name_u]. I often forget her official name is [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. She’s so spunky and energetic that [name_f]Alice[/name_f] feels really old while [name_u]Allie[/name_u] fits her perfectly. That being said, I dislike any other nicknames for [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
Unless it’s a one-syllable nickname, I don’t see why [name_f]Alice[/name_f] would need a nickname since it’s a short name and anything more than one syllable doesn’t make sense to me.
I like Lis(s).
I would never nickname the perfect [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
I agree. I know it is already a short name, but I am a nicknamer. Everyone has a nickname, lol. I’m really curious about what other [name_f]Alice[/name_f]'s and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] lovers would or do use as affection nicknames.
For example, we have a [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f], but we OFTEN call her Kinny. It’s just a cute, affectionate nickname.
I agree with everyone who said [name_f]Alice[/name_f] doesn’t need a nickname, but I like the nickname “[name_f]Lissie[/name_f]” a lot.
