Nicknames for Catherine Amelia/Amelia Catherine

What are some good nicknames for [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]? We loved [name]Kate[/name] until we realized lots of little [name]Caitlin[/name]/[name]Caitlyn[/name]/[name]Katelyn[/name]/Kaitlyns/Katies might be running around with that name here in the US (in addition to the [name]Katherine[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name]/Kathryns/Kates). [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Kate[/name] is still a lovely classic, or has it become tired and common?

We’re also considering flipping [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name], giving our girl the name [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. There, we would probably use the nickname [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Kate[/name], and pet names such as [name]Mia[/name], [name]Mia[/name] [name]Kate[/name], [name]Amy[/name] and [name]Amy[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. Is [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Kate[/name] too cutesy? Too long? What do you think? Any other nickname ideas for [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]?

Also, a bonus question: Can [name]Catherine[/name] (called [name]Kate[/name]) and [name]Caroline[/name] be sisters, or are the names just too similar?

Nicknames for [name]Catherine[/name] as the first name: [name]Cat[/name], [name]Rin[/name], Rinie

Nicknames for [name]Amelia[/name] as the first name: [name]Amia[/name], [name]Mel[/name], [name]Lia[/name], [name]Elia[/name], [name]Milly[/name]/[name]Millie[/name], [name]Allie[/name], [name]Lee[/name]

[name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] are not too similar at all and would make great sister names in my opinion.

I love [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]! It was actually the name of my great grandma, and she was just the greatest, so I found myself grinning at your title. My great-grandma went by [name]Katie[/name], but I love [name]Cate[/name] for [name]Catherine[/name] (or [name]Kate[/name]. I just love the softer “C”). I think [name]Kitty[/name], [name]Erin[/name], and [name]Wren[/name] are also adorable for [name]Catherine[/name]. I think you could get a double barrel like [name]Kitty[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Catie[/name] [name]May[/name]/[name]Kate[/name]-[name]May[/name]/[name]Katia[/name]-[name]May[/name], [name]Erin[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Erina[/name] [name]May[/name], etc. out of [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Amelia[/name], too. Or even [name]Kate[/name] [name]Amelia[/name], I think that’s adorable. I was a library science major for a short while, and we talked about the children’s book The Trouble with [name]May[/name] [name]Amelia[/name], and I think [name]Kate[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] has that same adorable, vintagey vibe.

[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is so pretty! And I agree, [name]Kate[/name], [name]Katie[/name] and [name]Cathy[/name] are pretty overdone. However, I think there are pleanty of fresh nicknames to go with [name]Catherine[/name]. My favorite is [name]Kitty[/name], followed by [name]Kay[/name]. With [name]Amelia[/name], I think ashthedreamer got it right with [name]Kitty[/name] [name]Mae[/name]/[name]May[/name]. It goes very well. I’d also like to mention that [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is much prettier than [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. I feel like there are a million [name]Amelia[/name]'s running around, compared to a few Catherines.

My favorite [name]Catherine[/name] nickname is [name]Kitty[/name] - I also like [name]Amy[/name] [name]Cate[/name]. But I don’t think you should flip them - [name]Amelia[/name] is soooo popular right now, [name]Catherine[/name] would be so nice to see.

I love [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. [name]Amelia[/name] has been so underused while there are so many variations of [name]Kate[/name], [name]Katie[/name], [name]Katelyn[/name], [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name] out there. [name]Kitty[/name] or [name]Cat[/name] would be my preferred NNs. As far as [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] - I think they definitely work together.

  1. [name]Kate[/name] is a classic and probably not nearly as popular as you think. Plus [name]Catherine[/name] is so versatile - she can always be a [name]Cat[/name], [name]Kit[/name], [name]Kitty[/name], [name]Cathy[/name], [name]Kay[/name], Catya, [name]Carin[/name], [name]Caia[/name], [name]Cary[/name], Rine, Trinny. If you go with [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Cam[/name] or [name]Cammie[/name] would be adorable.

  2. [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is brilliant, as is [name]Amy[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. More ideas: [name]Millie[/name]-[name]Kate[/name], [name]Mia[/name]-[name]Kate[/name], [name]Amy[/name]-[name]Kit[/name], [name]Ameline[/name].

  3. [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] makes a fantastic sibset - the names are similar and style and look but distinctive enough, but make sure the nicknames are different. [name]Kate[/name] & [name]Callie[/name] - lovely; [name]Cathy[/name] and [name]Cary[/name], not so much.

I like [name]Amelia[/name] as a first name better!!!

I love kitty or for katherine and mila/miela for [name]Amelia[/name]…

My favourite nn for [name]Amelia[/name] by far is [name]Milly[/name], I think it’s adorable on a little girl. [name]Milly[/name] [name]Kate[/name] would be sweet as well.

[name]Kate[/name] is, to me, a classic, and if I had a [name]Katherine[/name] (I prefer the K spelling) I’d use the nn [name]Kate[/name]. I think if you alternated [name]Kate[/name] with [name]Catherine[/name] she wouldn’t be ‘just another [name]Kate[/name]’, and I guess it depends on how popular [name]Caitlin[/name] and variants are in your area anyway whether you’d hear it used a lot. Though there’s nothing wrong with having a popular name. Yes, I was [name]Sophie[/name] Initial through all of primary, and [name]Sophie[/name] Surname through secondary school (the other [name]Sophie[/name] had the same initial as me) but I was never that bothered by it, and loved meeting other Sophies at the park etc as a kid. Whichever way you put the names, they’re two gorgeous classics that you can’t go wrong with.

A nickname for [name]Amelia[/name] could be [name]Milly[/name].

A nickname for [name]Catherine[/name] could be [name]Cathy[/name], [name]Catie[/name], [name]Cate[/name], or [name]Rin[/name].

I love [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]! [name]Cate[/name] is my favorite nn for [name]Catherine[/name], followed by [name]Cat[/name].

I think [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] are great sister names. To me, [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name] flows better, but it also depends on your last name. For nicknames, I like the suggestions of [name]Millie[/name] [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Mila[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. What about [name]Emma[/name] [name]Kate[/name]? [name]Emilia[/name] is similar to [name]Amelia[/name], and you could use that spelling if you want the short name [name]Emma[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. I think it’s cute!

I don’t think [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] are too close at all.

If you like a slightly offbeat nn, [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] could also be [name]Ace[/name] for A.C.
