Nicknames for Georgia

[name_u]Georgie[/name_u] has always been my first thought. I’ve come across the spelling of [name_u]Georgi[/name_u] which I like. Others I’ve found are Gi, [name_f]Gigi[/name_f], [name_f]Gia[/name_f], and [name_u]Jojo[/name_u]. [name_u]Jojo[/name_u] is my oldest dd’s nn so it’s off the list. Would [name_u]Rory[/name_u] be too much of a stretch? I’ve also thought about nn’s not related to the name, but the state (which is where I’m from), so nn’s like [name_f]Peaches[/name_f] or Peanut, but I’m less inclined toward these. Any other ideas?

[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is beautiful and only two syllables. I would never use a nickname for her. However, [name_f]Gia[/name_f], [name_f]Gigi[/name_f], and [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] would work. But then, you aren’t using the beautiful [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]!

My favourites are [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] snd [name_f]Gigi[/name_f], and yeah, I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is a bit too far of a stretch.

[name_u]Rory[/name_u] is a bit of a stretch, but I think it could work if her MN started with R.

I personally would not use a nickname for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. Out of the ones you listed I like [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] and [name_f]Gia[/name_f]. [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is very masculine to me so I personally would not use it on a girl, as a name or nickname.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] as is. If I had to use a NN I guess I’d use [name_f]Gigi[/name_f].

I agree with many posters that [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is a stretch for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I’m not really fond of nicknames that don’t have anything in common with the given name (unless said nickname is about the person and given to them for some quirk of theirs and not an attempted extrapolation of the name). As for nicknames that could work, I like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] (though it is a bit [name_f]Barbie[/name_f]-fied). Another that’s not too far of a stretch and is from a '70s (?) show is [name_f]Gidget[/name_f]. If I had to pick a nickname for Georiga, it would definitely be [name_f]Gidget[/name_f]. The only other nn I can think of would be [name_f]Ora[/name_f].

A more boyish diminutive that could work might be [name_m]Geordie[/name_m], but I like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_f]Gia[/name_f] the best for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. There’s also [name_m]Geo[/name_m] or [name_u]Jo[/name_u], and if you use [name_f]Georgina[/name_f], you can also shorten it to [name_f]Gina[/name_f] and [name_f]Ginnie[/name_f].

[name_f]Gigi[/name_f] is my favorite nickname with [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] in a close second. [name_u]Rory[/name_u] works but it’s not intuitive, which really isn’t a big deal.

I’d go with something short and sweet like Gi or [name_f]Ro[/name_f].

Thank you all for the responses/feedback. I sort of like [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and I sort of don’t. All I can think of when I see the name is the movie, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I dunno.

@dewdropsandroses - Her mn would actually start with an R so that’s interesting.

@abohemianmind - [name_f]Gidget[/name_f] is an interesting option!

@impwood - As a Trekky I like the idea of [name_m]Geordie[/name_m]/Geordi for a nn!

@teacupsandtiaras - I like [name_f]Ro[/name_f]! It goes well with [name_u]Jo[/name_u].

My name is [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], My parents always called me [name_m]George[/name_m] when talking to me but i’ve also always had [name_f]Gia[/name_f] and friends called me [name_m]Gee[/name_m] but [name_f]Gia[/name_f] is what I get most now which i’m thankful for as it’s my favourite out of them all. It came as my full name is [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Mia[/name_f] but I think it works with just [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].

Thank you for responding, loverofnames! It’s good to know what someone with the name actually goes by/gets called.

I like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] without a nickname as well. However, I also really like [name_f]Gia[/name_f].
