[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Hawthorne[/name] but it sounds a bit too grand for our tastes in conjunction our other child’s name ([name]Dashiell[/name], who we rarely call [name]Dash[/name]). The only nn I know for [name]Hawthorne[/name] is [name]Thorne[/name], which we do not love. Are there any others I’m missing?

I know two Henrys that go by nicknames. One goes by [name]Huck[/name] and the other [name]Hal[/name]. Maybe those will work with [name]Hawthorne[/name]? I mean I know it’s a stretch, but they’re not that similar to [name]Henry[/name] other than starting with the same letter. I think if a [name]Henry[/name] can go by [name]Huck[/name], [name]Hank[/name], [name]Harry[/name], and [name]Hal[/name], a [name]Charles[/name] can go by [name]Chas[/name], and a [name]William[/name] [name]Wylie[/name], a [name]Hawthorne[/name] can go by pretty much anything that starts with an H. [name]Just[/name] sayin. 
Maybe [name]Tor[/name]/[name]Tory[/name]? I know it is more thought of as a girls name, but I know several male [name]Tory[/name]'s/[name]Torre[/name]'s.

I was going to say [name]Hawk[/name] too, I am guessing you are not in Australia, but there is a [name]Hawthorn[/name] football team ([name]Hawthorn[/name] is a [name]Melbourne[/name] suburb) and they are nicknamed the Hawks.
