Nico Julius or Nico Barnaby?

[name_u]Nico[/name_u] [name_m]Julius[/name_m] or [name_u]Nico[/name_u] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]?

[name_m]Julius[/name_m] - This would be a honor name, but it would technically be honoring me, and I’m not sure I want to pull the trigger on that as it almost seems egocentric. I like [name_m]Julius[/name_m] as a name too but it would always feel like I used it in that capacity. My favorite name for either gender are also using middles that indirectly honor people (father, close friends) so I wonder if that would box me into a corner I don’t want to be in, should I have a 3rd (or more) child.

[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] - I simply like this name. It makes me smile, and the meaning, “son of encouragement” is good. Only negative I have with it is my #1 boy combo’s MN also ends in -y. I’m probably overthinking it, but it would feel like the beginning of a pattern to have two sons with that in common.

Any comments/feedback are appreciated. I know these names will not appeal to everyone.

[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] is so FUN. [name_u]Nico[/name_u] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] just has a happy, bubbley feeling. It flows wonderfully and I will be extremely sad if you do not use this name. Go for it!

Personally, I prefer [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]. As the previous poster said, it has a very upbeat feel. [name_u]Love[/name_u] your choice of [name_u]Nico[/name_u], by the way.

Thanks for the feedback. The more I sit on it, the less comfortable I feel with [name_m]Julius[/name_m] (it’s totally a handsome name, but I don’t think I could use it), and the more so with [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]. I only wish I was this decisive about girl names.
