Hello fellow name fans! Im STILL preganant with my boy due in FEB and still no name. What do you think of [name]Night[/name] or knight? what more normal mn would you pair it with? Thank you ladies.
[name]Night[/name] feels dark (he he) and mysterious to me, while [name]Knight[/name] feels regal, brave, and strong.
[name]Night[/name]/[name]Knight[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Night[/name]/[name]Knight[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Night[/name]/[name]Knight[/name] [name]Donovan[/name]
[name]Night[/name]/[name]Knight[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]
[name]Night[/name]/[name]Knight[/name] [name]Maxfield[/name]
[name]Night[/name]/[name]Knight[/name] [name]William[/name]
I hope I didn’t accidentally suggest any names of famous knights!
Good luck!
I personally like [name]Knight[/name] better than [name]Night[/name], but I would use it in the middle with a more “normal” name up front.
I like [name]Night[/name] better. It depends on the last name as to whether it would sound better as a first or middle name (regardless you could call him [name]Night[/name]). I actually really like the combination of [name]Night[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] or [name]Emmanuel[/name] [name]Night[/name]. Because of the T at the end of [name]Night[/name], I think the middle name should start with a vowel. Or how about:
[name]Night[/name] [name]Isaiah[/name]
[name]Night[/name] [name]Elijah[/name]
[name]Night[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Night[/name] [name]Antonio[/name]
Thank you for your response. I agree [name]Emmanuel[/name] is a great middle name with night/knight. Funny enough [name]Emmanuel[/name] was the only name I had on the list with my first before I found out she was a girl. The last name is COFFIN. So that definitely comes into play as it is a horrible last name.
The last name is Coffin? Wow, I’m sorry to say this but I personally would stay far away from [name]Night[/name] with your last name. It sounds verrry dark to me… If I saw the name [name]Night[/name] Coffin on paper I would first think it wasn’t a real name, and then think they parents must be really into vampires or something. I hope you don’t take that the wrong way, I’m not trying to be mean, but I bet a lot of people would think the same thing I did.
I agree. I wouldn’t go with [name]Knight[/name] Coffin either, because both words are English words and the two words together sound like a knight died and is lying in his coffin.
Coffin is a tricky last name. I would put a first name with it that includes one of the consonants from coffin: either c, f, or n. The name needs to be either one, three, or four syllables. Let us know what style you want, but here are some examples:
[name]Clive[/name] Coffin
[name]Frank[/name] Coffin - The consonant blend of f and r sounds very strong next to Coffin.
[name]Lionel[/name] Coffin - The two l’s help to soften the name Coffin.
[name]Lorenzo[/name] Coffin
[name]Nathaniel[/name] Coffin - handsome!
Maybe if there were a short o sound in the first name, that would work, too.
[name]Oliver[/name] Coffin
Names that include the letter v work as well. V is very similar to F.
[name]Everett[/name] Coffin
[name]Vance[/name] Coffin
For some reason, the name [name]Miles[/name] Coffin appeals to me. It breaks all my rules. But [name]Miles[/name] has a Puritan sound, so it can be next to coffin and just sound kind of severe but handsome. Let’s try some more Pilgrim/Puritan names and see what happens:
[name]Abram[/name] Coffin nn [name]Bram[/name] Coffin - so cool!
[name]Asher[/name] Coffin - don’t use this, it sounds like ashes in a coffin.
[name]Daniel[/name] Coffin
[name]Elijah[/name] Coffin
[name]Jacob[/name] Coffin
[name]John[/name] Coffin
[name]Noah[/name] Coffin
[name]Thaddeus[/name] Coffin
We know a man named [name]Dick[/name] Coffin whose brother was named [name]Rusty[/name] Coffin. My husband laughs about that name every time he thinks about it!

LOL! I am not offended at all thank you for your insight. About the [name]Dick[/name] Coffin comment, I almost peed my pants because on the Coffin side there is a [name]Doug[/name] Coffin and a [name]Barry[/name] Coffin. So I guess we do need to be a little carful on the name. I didn’t really want to reveal our full last name but now im a little worried about the baby having a dark scary name so I will have to disclose. The last name is [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin. Does that make a difference?
[name]Susan[/name], thank you so much for all your suggestions! I do like [name]Miles[/name]/milo but my partner had a teacher w that name and has bad association so its out. I also like [name]Cliff[/name] but he doesnt like the double CC of [name]Cliff[/name] coffin. The other names are nice BUT we like off beat nature names. Some names on our list are:
I like:
[name]Jericho[/name]
[name]Thelonius[/name]
[name]Gage[/name]
[name]Lazaro[/name]/[name]Lazarus[/name]
He likes:
Lightning
[name]Maxwell[/name]
Nine
we both like
[name]Rio[/name]
[name]Zephyr[/name]
[name]Tennessee[/name]
Miro
[name]Killian[/name]
Keep in mind the last name is [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin.
I like:
[name]Jericho[/name] – I can only think of the Pro Wrestler when I hear this. If that’s not an issue for you, it does have a cool sound.
[name]Thelonius[/name] – I think you should only use this if you’re a huge fan of [name]Thelonius[/name] Monk.
[name]Gage[/name]- Hmm, not sure about this. I think it’s growing on me.
[name]Lazaro[/name]/[name]Lazarus[/name] – So cool!
He likes:
Lightning – [name]Don[/name]'t like this at all
[name]Maxwell[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] so much!
Nine – [name]Don[/name]'t like
we both like
[name]Rio[/name] – Really cool!
[name]Zephyr[/name] –
[name]Tennessee[/name] – I like this!
Miro – Sounds like someone with some sort of accent saying [name]Milo[/name]
[name]Killian[/name] – [name]Don[/name]'t like the combo of Kill and Coffin.
One suggestion that jumped out at me is [name]Indiana[/name]. I love that name but I’m not adventurous enough to use it.
[name]Hi[/name]! On the bright side, [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin sounds cheerier to me than Coffin alone. With the right first name, I doubt anyone will even notice Coffin!
[name]Jericho[/name]: [name]Jericho[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin doesn’t sound dark to me, and with [name]Parr[/name] in between [name]Jericho[/name] and Coffin, I don’t think of coffins in [name]Jericho[/name].
[name]Thelonius[/name]: [name]Thelonius[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin doesn’t sound dark to me, either.
[name]Gage[/name]: [name]Gage[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin doesn’t work as well to me, because [name]Gage[/name] and [name]Parr[/name] are both short names, and because with [name]Gage[/name], the full name is three nouns ([name]Gage[/name], [name]Parr[/name], which reminds me of par in golf, and Coffin).
[name]Lazaro[/name]/[name]Lazarus[/name]: I like [name]Lazaro[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin, and it doesn’t feel dark to me, either.
I think that longer first names like [name]Lazaro[/name] and the others (and names that aren’t nouns) sound great with the last name!
More I can see:
[name]Abraham[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin
[name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin (I know it’s too traditional for you, though)
[name]Ezekiel[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin
[name]Emmanuel[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin
[name]Raphael[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin
Lightning: This is really dark to me on its own, and with Coffin in the mix, it feels even darker. I unfortunately think of a dark, rainy night, and with [name]Parr[/name], I visualize coffins on a golf course during a storm.
[name]Maxwell[/name]: This doesn’t feel dark to me at all with [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin!
Nine: With a number next to [name]Parr[/name], I definitely think of golf, and overall, I think of nine coffins on a golf course.
[name]Rio[/name]: [name]Even[/name] thought it’s a noun, I think it works better than the other nouns on the list. [name]Rio[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin doesn’t sound dark to me.
[name]Zephyr[/name]: This one feels dark to me, like Lightening.
[name]Tennessee[/name]: [name]Tennessee[/name] [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin reminds me of coffins in [name]Tennessee[/name], which is weird considering that [name]Jericho[/name] didn’t give me the same association.
Miro: Miro [name]Parr[/name]-Coffin doesn’t sound morbid to me…
[name]Killian[/name]: Kill and Coffin in the same name is definitely morbid to me…
[name]Night[/name]/[name]Knight[/name]: This is definitely dark to me, too.
I’d personally stick with names like [name]Lazaro[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], or [name]Thelonius[/name] with your last name. To me, word names seem to emphasize the noun aspect of Coffin, while regular “name” names don’t.
Good luck, [name]Meryl[/name]!
Thank you for your thoughts. I do like the name [name]Indiana[/name] but to me its a girls name as I grew up with a very pretty french girl named [name]Indiana[/name].
Dear [name]Susan[/name],
I like how you call names like [name]Jericho[/name], [name]Emmanuel[/name] and [name]Thelonius[/name] Pilgrim names! I do love pilgrim names, [name]Mercy[/name] for a girl I love, and I think they offset the harsh Coffin however baby daddy HATES them. So thats that. If it was up to me his name would be [name]Jericho[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]. Although [name]Maxwell[/name] is my partners favorite name I refuse to use it as a first as one of my best friends has a son named [name]Max[/name] also it was the name of my family dog growing up. So, [name]Maxwell[/name] is strictly middle name material. Thank you for your honest input it has really helped.
[name]Night[/name] spelt with an N is beautiful is is calm and gives nice images, although sorry but feels slightly femineine
