Nimkish?

I heard this name somewhere before and it was spelled like Nimpkish but without the “p”.
I really like it and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it.
Also do you like the name?

I love [name]Nim[/name] as a nickname, and I get the appeal of the sound of Nimkish, but to me it looks like one of those names that wouldn’t work if you didn’t have the heritage to pull it off.

According to Google, Nimkish is the name of a river and a tribe of Native Americans in British [name]Columbia[/name]. I’m not sure if there’s any other place it originates from.

Nimue (nim-oo-ay) might be another way to get [name]Nim[/name] as a nickname. It comes from Arthurian legend, and the girl in the movie [name]Nim[/name]'s Island which came out a few years ago had Nimue was her full name.

Yes, the person did have the heritage. Maybe it was spelled with the p?
It might just be pronounced without the p.

This seems like one of those names that’s best kept in its native culture.
