I remember this name, back when [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] bring this name to my attention. But it was not until recently, when I started to think of this name as name I could use.
Correct way to pronounce this name is Nee-moo-ay. I didn’t decide yet would it be only middle name, because I usually don’t like when name isn’t good enough to be in the first spot. But I suppose it’s name people will have trouble saying again, has no good nicknames, only bad ones. I like it, thou. I’m just not sure how much.
There’s also unfortunate sound moo. In Croatia we say cow calls “Moo” and it’s quite widespread. (But I’m one of those who believe most children can cope with small jokes on their behalf.)
Wdyt? If you can think of any good nicknames, share it!
I have this same problem with [name_f]Tove[/name_f] (Tow-vah). It’s a pretty name that most people will not be able to pronounce. I would only put it in the middle, personally. I like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] Nimue pretty well.
I’ve always heard it pronounced nim-yoo-ay (a la Camelot), so I don’t consider it have a “moo” syllable. I think it is lovely. I like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] Nimue best from your list.
I adore Nimue, I really do. She’s such a gorgeous sounding little dear. I do think she’d have to deal with a lot of pronunciation issues growing up though, so perhaps using her as a middle name would be a good idea. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] Nimue is beautiful - I love it!
