Last name starts with a “D”, 2 syllables, ends in “son”
I’m going back and forth about [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. Some days I absolutely love it, other days I’m not as sure. I wish there was any nickname to go along… I can’t think of any.
I love [name_f]Cora[/name_f], and the nickname “[name_f]Coco[/name_f]”. My only reservation – which might be a little silly-- is that my 2-year old daughter is obsessed with [name_f]Dora[/name_f] the [name_u]Explorer[/name_u] and I don’t want her to get confused. Or for us to end up with a daughter named [name_f]Dora[/name_f] instead
I much prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f]! I really like the name, and the nn [name_f]Coco[/name_f] is so cute! [name_f]Cora[/name_f] does rhyme with [name_f]Dora[/name_f], but I don’t think of [name_f]Dora[/name_f] when I say [name_f]Cora[/name_f].
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] is definitely more classic, but Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u] could be a strong association. I don’t love the nn [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Nina[/name_f]! I know a [name_f]Nina[/name_f] and we call her Nins (Neens) and [name_f]Ninnie[/name_f] (like [name_f]Minnie[/name_f]). I don’t know whether this will make you hate the name or something, but her sister calls her Neener Wiener for fun, just around the house and stuff, which is kinda cute in my opinion.
I prefer [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. It’s short, sweet, underused and internationally friendly. Nothing wrong with [name_f]Cora[/name_f], I’m just not a fan of hard sounding R names.
I really like both. If forced to pick, I would lean slightly to [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. I’m on the fence on the nickname of [name_f]Coco[/name_f]. I wouldn’t worry about [name_f]Dora[/name_f] confusion. If it does happen, it will be short lived. I did know a Nini (pronounced Ne-ne but maybe that ruined by the Real Housewives??). So that a possible nickname for [name_f]Nina[/name_f].
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f] are lovely, but I prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], whereas [name_f]Nina[/name_f] feels more like a standalone name, if that makes any sense.
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] to me is a great choice. It’s timeless/classy/girly. [name_f]Nina[/name_f] is OK too, but doesn’t have the same feel as [name_f]Cora[/name_f] to me.
