Nina : short for

Hey Berries!

Last week I posted a thread asking opinions of the name Karenina, nn. [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. After some thought, with your help, I realised it might be a little too dramatic / tied to the novel to use as a FN.

BUT, I love the nickname [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. I know I could use it on its own, but I’d rather it be used as just a nn. What names do you know that has [name_f]Nina[/name_f] as a nn?

Thanks for your help Berries!

I once knew an [name_f]Antonina[/name_f]. She was a foreign exchange student from Moldova and was very sweet. We called her [name_f]Tonia[/name_f], but [name_f]Nina[/name_f] would be a good nickname for it as well.

I would use [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]… Perhaps a bit of a stretch but I don’t think people would raise eyebrows!

I have a friend named [name_f]Adelina[/name_f] who goes by nn [name_f]Nina[/name_f].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

Hey, I love [name_f]Nina[/name_f] and I would just use is as a stand alone to be honest! If you’re really set on a longer name though [name_f]Nina[/name_f] Dobrev’s full name is actually Nikolina which I think is gorgeous.

I second Nikolina/[name_f]Nicolina[/name_f]!

Thank you so much everyone!!

I love Nikolina and [name_f]Emalina[/name_f]!

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Nina[/name_f] could be used for Isalina?

I would use [name_f]Annina[/name_f] or [name_f]Anina[/name_f]. I’m sure you could use [name_f]Nina[/name_f] for Isalina but it does seem like a bit of a stretch. Isalina has a neither here nor there quality in my mind-- sorry! It just seems like a smoosh between [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f], or something along those lines. If it has meaning to you, though, then it is beautiful.
