Nina

I really love the name [name]Nina[/name], it’s not overused but not out there. I am really struggling with a middle name. My mother’s middle name is [name]Margaret[/name] and I would love to somehow honor that without actually using [name]Margaret[/name] (it just feels a little dated to me)… Any ideas?

[name]Nina[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Celia[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Tess[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Aveline[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Greer[/name]

[name]How[/name] about [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margot[/name]?

Well, I can’t think of anything for [name]Margaret[/name], but I love the name [name]Nina[/name] [name]Frances[/name].
Oh, [name]Nina[/name] [name]Marin[/name], [name]Nina[/name] [name]Marie[/name] (although that is such a filler name!), but that’s all I can think of!

I love [name]Nina[/name]!

[name]Nina[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] ([name]Margaret[/name] means [name]Pearl[/name])
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] (French version of [name]Margaret[/name])
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Marielle[/name] (has the [name]Mar[/name] part!)

For what it’s worth, I really love [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]!

Good luck!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Jill[/name]'s idea of [name]Nina[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]!
Also, [name]Nina[/name] [name]Maisie[/name], if you have anything but a two-syllable last name.
I love [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]!
And what about [name]Nina[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]!
Also [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margery[/name] - it’s so dated, maybe it could be considered nerdy cool. I think it’s cool because it’s Medieval. [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Marjorie[/name] as much.

[name]Nina[/name] is a very pretty name! [name]Will[/name] it be pronounced Nine-a or nee-na? I think either go well with [name]Margaret[/name]. While i do agree si feels a little old and dated it would be a great way to honor you mom.

I love, love, love [name]Nina[/name] - would have used it in a heartbeat if my husband had liked it.
For what it’s worth, I actually think [name]Margaret[/name] is more timeless than dated. [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] sounds great, kind of like [name]Ann[/name] [name]Margaret[/name].

thanks for all your help  i really love all the ideas. i think i like nina pearl and after hearing so many people like margaret, it sort of makes it more appealing. so thank you all! p.s. i would say it nee-na, not nine-a.

No problem! I love [name]Nina[/name], and think that both [name]Nina[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] are stunning!

Good luck!

I love [name]Nina[/name]! <3

You could honor her by naming your little girl…

[name]Nina[/name] [name]Margene[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Marget[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Margo[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Marley[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Mari[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Maggie[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Margolette[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Margie[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Margrett[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] that helped in some way!

I think that [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] would be a good match because [name]Nina[/name] comes from the Latvian name [name]Antonina[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] is a name in common use in Latvia.

PS I hope to visit this lovely country (the [name]Paris[/name] of the [name]North[/name]) in 2010, so I have it on the brain.

Have you considered [name]Nina[/name] [name]Gretel[/name] as a variation on [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]?

I don’t think [name]Margaret[/name] is dated at all! [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] is lovely. I also like [name]Nina[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and
[name]Nina[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name]. [name]Gretchen[/name] is also a form of [name]Margaret[/name], but doesn’t necessarily have a pretty sound. Since [name]Marguerite[/name] means ‘daisy’ in French, what about [name]Nina[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]?

[name]Love[/name] the suggestions of

[name]Gretchen[/name]
[name]Gretel[/name] and
[name]Daisy[/name]

I looked over all the variations, domestic and international, for [name]Margaret[/name] thinking I may find something really interesting and not too much of a stretch, but I come to prefer [name]Margaret[/name]. I also like the suggestion of [name]Pearl[/name]. I do like some of the variations like [name]Margot[/name] and [name]Greta[/name] also, but not with [name]Nina[/name]. [name]Nina[/name] [name]Margot[/name] sounds really strict and icy, and [name]Nina[/name] [name]Greta[/name] is kind of hard in sound and also sort of reminds me of vinaigrette. I have really been warming up to like the name [name]Nina[/name] a lot. It is simple and friendly sort of name, and [name]Margaret[/name] is a classic name that is not as well-used as [name]Katherine[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name], a pretty ideal choice, you need look no further, so seek not to vary!, (except maybe consider [name]Pearl[/name]).
