Nixing all our boy names...need new ideas

Some background: we have a son already, [name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name], whose name we [name]LOVE[/name]. I’m having a very hard time coming up with a good sibset.

Names we have talked about and nixed:

[name]Sawyer[/name]: [name]Love[/name] this name written, don’t like saying it as much. Think it goes ok with [name]Dashiell[/name].

[name]August[/name]/us: I really do like this name, but it just doesn’t seem like the perfect fit. [name]August[/name] is ok with [name]Dashiell[/name], [name]Augustus[/name] feels too fussy when paired with [name]Dashiell[/name].

[name]Archer[/name]: I want to love this name, but I just don’t completely. I also think [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Arch[/name] (not that we would call them this) don’t go well together.

[name]Jasper[/name]: Over this name, although I loved it for a time.

Truett: Still like this one, and love the nn [name]True[/name]. Husband is not sold though. Not sure how it works as a sibset.

[name]Leo[/name]: [name]Love[/name] love love this and think it goes perfectly with [name]Dashiell[/name], but it doesn’t work AT ALL w/ our last name.

[name]Hunter[/name]: Husband’s favorite. It’s [name]MIL[/name]'s maiden name and while I really like that connection, the name is a bit common for me and I just don’t feel totally in love with it. That said, it goes well with [name]Dashiell[/name].

[name]Griffin[/name]: [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Finn[/name] but don’t like [name]Griffin[/name]. Our last name is one syllable so I’d like a multi-syllable first name. I think both [name]Finn[/name]/[name]Griffin[/name] go really well with [name]Dashiell[/name], but Finneas/[name]Finnegan[/name] sound maybe a bit fussy.

[name]Charlie[/name]: [name]Love[/name] this nn, hate [name]Charles[/name]. Plus it’s very common, which I don’t like. [name]Do[/name] think it goes well with [name]Dashiell[/name].

[name]Hawthorne[/name]: [name]Love[/name] this name, but it feels too fussy paired with [name]Dashiell[/name] and I don’t like the nn [name]Thorne[/name].

I feel like we will NEVER find the right name…would love suggestions if anyone has any!

What about [name]Leopold[/name] or [name]Leonard[/name] with the nn [name]Leo[/name]?
And I think [name]Charlie[/name] works on its own actually, but if you prefer it as a nickname, maybe [name]Charlot[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name]? Or [name]Charleston[/name]?

I love [name]Charlie[/name] with [name]Dash[/name]. Maybe [name]Charleston[/name]? Also, if you like [name]Finn[/name] what about [name]Finian[/name]? It’s less fussy that [name]Phinneas[/name] but more modern than [name]Finnegan[/name]. Also I immediately thought of the name [name]Whitman[/name]. It has the adorable nickname [name]Whit[/name] and sounds great with [name]Dashiell[/name], plus it has the literary connection that [name]Hawthorne[/name] has. [name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I don’t like [name]Leopold[/name] or [name]Leonard[/name] (just personal connotations) but I do like [name]Leander[/name]. Husband does not though. I don’t think I would use [name]Charlie[/name] on it’s own as I’d like to give him the option for something more grown up/serious when he is older if he so chooses.

I actually like [name]Finnian[/name] much better than [name]Phinneas[/name], not sure why I didn’t think of that. Still not in love with it, though. [name]Whitman[/name] is a lovely name but again I feel it is too similar to [name]Dashiell[/name] in feel. It’s strange, I want them to be a well-matched set as far as sound but I’d like the feel of the names to be different enough…if that makes sense.

I really like [name]Finn[/name] too. Have you thought if [name]Finley[/name]? I think its a little popular right now but if you like it why not?

I know a couple girls named [name]Finley[/name]/[name]Finlay[/name] so to me it is more of a girls name. I have always liked it though. I don’t know, I will have to give more thought to this [name]Finn[/name] thing and see if maybe I can come up with a longer name that I like.

[name]Finnian[/name] and [name]Dashiell[/name] are a wonderful sibset! I really like [name]Finnian[/name], fun and spunky but also able to mature well.

I actually know a [name]Dash[/name] (it’s his middle name, first name [name]Austin[/name]), whose brother is [name]Leo[/name]. I think it’s adorable. Too bad it doesn’t work with your last name.

Truett seems like the PERFECT fit to [name]Dashiell[/name], imo. I’m not sure you can get any better than that, but I’ll try…

Sorry for any repeats:
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Abbott[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Abram[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Silas[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Owen[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Simon[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Elias[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Reid[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Graham[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Ren[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name] [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name]

[name]Montgomery[/name] [name]Clinton[/name]
[name]Remy[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Darian[/name] [name]Percival[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Wilfred[/name] [name]Anthony[/name]

[name]Glad[/name] you like [name]Finian[/name]. Here are some other names that could yield the [name]Finn[/name] nickname. Some of them are a bit of a stretch, so not sure if any appeal to you, but it’s worth a go.

[name]Finch[/name]
[name]Dauphin[/name]
[name]Finbar[/name]
[name]Finton[/name]
[name]Ruffin[/name]
[name]Thorfin[/name]
[name]Philbin[/name]
[name]Philemon[/name]
[name]Philipson[/name]

[name]Griffin[/name] would be a [name]Finn[/name]. [name]Dashiell[/name] and [name]Griffin[/name]?

What about [name]Arthur[/name]? [name]Arthur[/name] is CLOSE to [name]Archer[/name] (so you still get that same feel) and it sounds good with [name]Dashiell[/name] I think.

I love [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Dashiell[/name]! [name]Finlay[/name] would be my choice (I’ve never heard it on any girls in Australia) but I also really like [name]Finnian[/name].
