I like [name_f]Evadne[/name_f]! I think it’s the prettiest and you also have a great story behind it. I think it sounds strong and solid while [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] is a bit wispy for my taste. My only thought is - if you use this, you can’t use [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], so make sure you’re ok giving that one up in exchange for this one!

I voted for [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f], I thought it was unusual but sounds lovely

We like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] with NN [name_f]Evie[/name_f]

Here’s some other suggestions

I am okay with giving [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] up - I am not too fond of having the same gender siblings start with the same letter (weird I know) and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] or [name_f]Amaya[/name_f] wins above [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f].

Thank you [name_u]Courtnay[/name_u]! [name_m]Will[/name_m] have a look at that link!

I think [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] is really nice. Some other possibilities not mentioned:

[name_u]Aoibheann[/name_u] / [name_f]Eavan[/name_f]
[name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f] / Keavy / [name_u]Keeva[/name_u]
Everild
[name_f]Geneva[/name_f]
[name_f]Niamh[/name_f] / [name_f]Neve[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvette[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f]! Evren is a boys name and sounds very masculine to me

I really like [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] and Evora is intriguing, but [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] has been my second favourite name for years and where my vote has to go. I love how unusual, but usable she is, and I enjoy the softness and substance to the sound. From what I know, the name means ‘Good flower’, so there’s still the floral link, although I haven’t heard of an actual flower with the name (but I’m no botanist!). I do get a flowery feel from her anyway though, I always think of long grass and springtime. I absolutely love [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as a nn too.

I thought Evren was a boys name, I remember that a Nameberry member (Elfisu?) ages ago when I first was on NB had it as a boys name and I am sure she is from that culture of name so that is why I was uhmming that one and preferring the top 2.

Oh maybe it is just the meaning as Nameberry says “if you’re looking for a generic flower name” - oops  - I love that imagery you have!

I love [name_f]Evadne[/name_f]!! It’s got a great sound

[name_f]Evanna[/name_f] and Evannie are the only others I can think of right now

I really like [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f]!

[name_f]Evadne[/name_f] – I love [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], and its strong, warrior-like sound. [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] being the daughter of [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] in one of the Greek myths would be a good, subtle link for the babe of water babes.

[name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] – I do really like this, though I must say that I do prefer other, gentler -anth names, such as [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] or [name_f]Antheia[/name_f]. It is not actually the name of a certain flower, but rather means “blooming” ultimately from Greek elements meaning “good, flower” which is just lovely. Evanthe also has a connection to butterflies, Colotis evanthe being a species of butterfly found in Madagascar. As well as these (and the mythological) connections, this also has an astronomical association (Euanthe, the original Greek spelling, is a moon of [name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]) which if I remember correctly, you are also on the lookout for.

Personally, I prefer [name_f]Evadne[/name_f], but [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] is very nice too, and may fit the overall style of your combos a little better. I also love Evren, though prefer it for a boy myself.

I will suggest [name_f]Evony[/name_f], though it is a name of which hasn’t really got any apparent history - I just love it. It was the name of a character, ‘The [name_f]Morrigan[/name_f]’ (based on the figure of the same name in Irish Mythology), in a TV show I used to enjoy watching, which was based loosely on characters from myth, legend and folklore ("Lost Girl", if you are interested).

Uhm, you sold me more on [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f]! [name_u]Love[/name_u] butterflies! I didn’t know some of these connections.

A very hard decision now but glad to know more about the names.
