I love the name [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but I dread the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f]. There are too many out there at the moment for my taste. Of course I would just call her [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but I know nicknames are inevitable at school and just in life in general.
What could [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]'s nickname be, if not [name_f]Addie[/name_f]?
Thanks!
Well, it is a stretch; but there is [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], which comes from the original form [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f]. You could use [name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. Or just simply A. I know an [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] whose mother nicknamed her A.
Oooohhhh, I like [name_f]Della[/name_f]! I don’t think I ever would have thought of that. And that seems closest to [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], in my opinion. Thanks for your help!
As long as we’re on a roll, what about a nickname for [name_f]Perpetua[/name_f]?
I like [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], but traditionally that’s a nickname for [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]. I also think Peppa is cute, but I don’t want people to automatically think “Salt & Peppa”. Thoughts?
[name_f]Della[/name_f], [name_u]Dell[/name_u], [name_f]Adela[/name_f], [name_f]Adelie[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], Lady.
[name_f]Perpetua[/name_f]: [name_f]Petra[/name_f], [name_f]Pet[/name_f], Tutu. You could definitely use Peppa or [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]. Admittedly, I don’t think salt and pepper, I think Peppa Pig. I don’t know if that is a good thing or not.
Aidey. Like from the last syllable of the name.
