[name]Adelaide[/name] is one of my favorite names and it’s really so versatile because of its many nickname options. I have to agree, I always thought Lady was darling! I’m not a fan of [name]Addy[/name] since it’s so popular. My favorite has to be [name]Ada[/name]. I think it’s just so charming and sophisticated and vintage sounding. [name]Adele[/name] and [name]Della[/name] are two other favorite options that both give me the same feel as [name]Ada[/name].
My daughter is [name]Adelaide[/name] also, only part of the reason I chose that name is because I love “[name]Addie[/name]” as a nickname (and I have for about 15 years, when it was relatively unheard of!). I realize it is very popular now due to [name]Addison[/name], but we still call her [name]Addie[/name] most of the time. Her other nickname is “Ladie”, which I think is so cute too!

Our daughter is also named [name]Adelaide[/name] and I have never been a fan of [name]Addie[/name]/[name]Addy[/name] (although my husband’s family loves it and the more they call her by it, the more it is growing on me…) Anyway our favorite nicknames are [name]Laidey[/name] or Lailey. I also like [name]Adey[/name] (A-dee), but am in the minority in my family.

Lady! I absolutely love Lady! [name]Addie[/name] is alright, but very popular due to [name]Addison[/name]/[name]Adelyn[/name] etc. I did used to love [name]Addie[/name] until it rose dramatically, now I just don’t mind it.

I like Lady as a nickname to [name]Adelaide[/name], way more so than the tired [name]Addie[/name]/[name]Addy[/name].
Why does every name need a nickname though? Maybe she might prefer to go by [name]Adelaide[/name]. My friend [name]Abigail[/name] hates to be called [name]Abby[/name], as her parents called her for years. She much prefers [name]Abigail[/name].
