NN for Amaryllis?

[name]Hi[/name] Berries!
I recently fell in love with the name [name]Amaryllis[/name]. I was just wondering, what could a possible NN for [name]Amaryllis[/name] be? I’ve thought of [name]Amy[/name], but I’d love to hear your take! Thanks!

I like [name]Amaryllis[/name]! Besides [name]Amy[/name], I think you could use [name]Amaya[/name], [name]Mary[/name], [name]Mari[/name] (MAH-ree versus [name]MARE[/name]-ee or muh-[name]REE[/name]), [name]Ari[/name], [name]Rilla[/name] (or even [name]Marilla[/name]), Lissy, [name]Arlie[/name], etc.

Good luck!

[name]Amaryllis[/name] is one of my favourites ( I kinda have a thing for exotic flower names)!!! I’ve thought about this before actually, I would use [name]Rilla[/name] or [name]Mary[/name]. But I adore your suggestion about [name]Amy[/name]! I think it works really well!

[name]Mara[/name]
[name]Lissa[/name]
Silla
I also like the suggestion of [name]Ari[/name]

I really like Rylla!

I read a book with a minor character whose name was [name]Amaryllis[/name] but she went by Rilly. I thought that was very cute.

So I absolutely adore the name [name]Amaryllis[/name] as well! As far as nicknames, I love [name]Amari[/name]. (prn uh-mahr-ee) Or just [name]Mari[/name] if three syllables is still too much for a nickname. Not a fan of [name]Amy[/name] because it’s so typical that everyone would assume that’s just their name. I liked Rylli at first, but to me it sounds too much like Really. You know? So [name]Amari[/name] does the trick for me.

By the way, from your signature I’m guessing you’re a [name]Les[/name] Miz fan?

I like [name]Amy[/name]. =] You could use [name]Aris[/name]/Arys. Also [name]Ama[/name], [name]Mary[/name], Lis, Lissy/[name]Lissa[/name], [name]Ary[/name]/[name]Arie[/name]/Airy, [name]Arly[/name]/[name]Arlie[/name], [name]Arlis[/name]/Arlys… many possibilities.

I knew of an [name]Amaryllis[/name] who went by the NN “Amo” (pronounced “ammo” like short for ammunition)…she had a firecracker personality, so it fit her a lot more than a flower!

I’d go with “[name]Rella[/name]” - I think it sounds (and looks) softer and sweeter than “Rilly” or “[name]Rilla[/name]” which remind me of Gorilla.

Amo, [name]Mara[/name], [name]Mars[/name], [name]Amara[/name], [name]Rilla[/name]! There seem to be so many great possibilities…

I don’t have any new nickname suggestions for you. But I wanted to compliment you on your choice of name. I think [name]Amaryllis[/name] is a lovely rare name… it reminds me of the adorable little girl from The [name]Music[/name] [name]Man[/name].

I love this name. So many nn’s. Enjoy!

I adore [name]Marilla[/name]/[name]Rilla[/name]!

I know a girl named [name]Amarylis[/name] (spelled with one l I think) and she doesn’t like any nn but [name]Ama[/name]. I think [name]Ama[/name] is cute. It’s a spanish form of love. Rilly or [name]Rilla[/name] is cute. Kind of like [name]Marilla[/name], [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables…
I think [name]Amaryllis[/name] is super cute!

I like [name]Ama[/name]!

[name]Amy[/name], Ryll or [name]Mary[/name]. [name]Mary[/name] being my personal favourite nickname for the beautiful but rather lengthy [name]Amaryllis[/name].

I never thought of Rilly or Rylla. Rylla does sound a bit like gorilla though.

[name]Amaryllis[/name] has such a beautiful meaning too… “fresh, sparkling”. Also the name of a flower. A poetic name for a simple shepherdess or country girl using in the writings of [name]Virgil[/name].

I like [name]Ama[/name] and [name]Mara[/name] for [name]Amaryllis[/name]!

Is [name]Marli[/name] (as in [name]Bob[/name] [name]Marley[/name]) a stretch?..I like that name too. =D
