What are some other potential nn for [name]Madeleine[/name] other than [name]Maddie[/name]/[name]Maddy[/name]/[name]Maddi[/name]?
I really don’t like that nn at all.

Some of these may be a stretch, but:
[name]Addie[/name]
Madda
[name]Del[/name]
[name]Della[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Lynn[/name]
Lynnie
[name]Lina[/name]/[name]Lena[/name]
[name]Mallie[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Leni[/name]
[name]Mila[/name]
[name]Millie[/name]
[name]Minnie[/name]
[name]Min[/name]
[name]Mina[/name]
I think [name]Madeleine[/name]'s gorgeous on its own, and I know a few who don’t go by a nickname so it’s doable.
My grandmother’s name was [name]Madelyn[/name] and her nicknames were Mad and Madsie. I always loved Madsie.
[name]Lane[/name] or [name]Laney[/name]?
I can’t stand the nn [name]Maddie[/name] either. [name]Madeleine[/name] is a beautiful name though and of course you wouldn’t have to use a nn, but others might, and they will end up calling her [name]Maddie[/name] unless you give her a different nn and only really call her that.
I think it’s too risky if you hate the nn [name]Maddie[/name] ;(
I think that if you really enforce a nickname won’t run into many problems with people calling her maddie, unless she’s a teenager and decides she likes it. I have a niece named [name]Madeline[/name] and she goes almost exclusively by maddie. I’m also not a fan. It sounds like a nickname for the mad hatter!
My favorite nn for it is [name]Lina[/name] or [name]Lena[/name]. You could also do [name]Ada[/name] or [name]Adele[/name]. Or My favorite for any name that ends in -ina or -ine: [name]Ina[/name]!
That’s my feelings and problems exactly. [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name], but it might be moved to a middle name spot.
Thanks for all the input! There were some great suggestions.
I’m not expecting or even TTC right now, I’m just name obsessed…and surprisingly enough, my husband is a little bit too.
