Nn or an alternative for Sena?

[name_f]My[/name_f] friend’s daughter is called [name_f]Sena[/name_f], and she lives in UK. The more she grows up, the more she hates the name because it’s unusual and always misspelled & mispronounced. The name is short so we couldn’t really think of a nn, any suggestions? Or is there any name that could be used instead of it perhaps? She doesn’t want an entirely different name but not sure what could be a nn for [name_f]Sena[/name_f]

Enn? [name_f]Anna[/name_f]?

Maybe she could go by [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]. It doesn’t sound all that different (assuming [name_f]Sena[/name_f] is pronounced the same as Japanese [name_f]Senna[/name_f].)

It’s pronounced almost like [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] (but without the ‘i’ obviously, and with long ‘a’ at the end). But she hates it. That was the best we could find too haha.

Aww, she’ll love the uniqueness of her name one day. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not at the moment. lol Maybe you or someone could ask her what she wants to go by? She might have a totally different name in mind that she likes.

You’re probably right. But she’s in highschool right now and people get her name wrong all the time! Maybe she’ll like it at uni haha  People used to call her [name_m]Harry[/name_m] (because she read the HP books a lot, and actually looked a lot like the character) and she actually likes being called that, though nobody calls her that anymore.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], then? I mean, it’s the best I can come up with…shrug

This is my daughter’s given name. [name_m]Say[/name_m]-na. Everyone pronounces it wrong. I mean mangles it. [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Senna[/name_f], See-na, [name_f]Selina[/name_f] etc. We call her by her middle name.

Going off the initial S, what about [name_f]Essie[/name_f]?

Great Idea!! I second this!!
