Me again… we are naming our baby today as the time limit is nearly up!?
We can’t agree on any names, we have really different tastes and managed to meet in the middle with our first son [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. My OH loves [name_u]Noah[/name_u], I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. All my names my OH dislikes, like [name_u]Rex[/name_u], [name_u]Billy[/name_u] etc…
[name_f]Do[/name_f] I just go with it or do I cancel the naming appointment so can rethink, it’s four weeks now so not sure if we are going to find a name we both love.
I don’t think you should name your son something you don’t love. Why not name him [name_m]William[/name_m] and just give him the nickname [name_u]Billy[/name_u]?
That’s a tough one… if throughout your pregnancy and in the 4 weeks since your son has been born you haven’t managed to find a single name you both like, it seems you may have exhausted all your options. A name one of you lots and one of you is just okay with may be as good as it gets… that said, it’s such a permanent decision… he’s fine without a name for 4 weeks, why not 1 more week to see if it clicks?
Have you been calling him [name_u]Noah[/name_u]? If not, I say reschedule and call him that for a couple days and see if that makes you like the name more or less. If you have been calling him [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and you’re still not sold, I’d say have your OH pick one of the names you like that he objects to the least and call him that a couple days… does it feel better?
I’m totally against going with something you don’t love. I’m convinced that the person carrying the baby should have the right to decide on his/her name. Besides, in the US it’s the person who gave birth that is given the paperwork for the baby’s name, so it seems logical that you should be the one making the final choice.
To sum up, I don’t think you should use [name_u]Noah[/name_u]. Are there any similar names that you like? Have you considered [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m], [name_m]Noam[/name_m]?
P.S. Oh, and we have a [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], too!

I went ahead and put [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] (the name you both agreed on for kiddo #1) [name_u]Noah[/name_u], and [name_u]Rex[/name_u] into the name generator to see what popped up and here are a few things that struck me as possibilities:

My SO wanted to call [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] but I didn’t like it and then I liked it for this one and my SO didnt, so weird! We did like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] too but it doesnt work with our surname… [name_m]Will[/name_m] have a look at the others, [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] is cute!?
If your last name is [name_m]Williams[/name_m], no matter what you give him for a first name, his nickname can be [name_u]Billy[/name_u]. I would ease the name [name_u]Billy[/name_u] into your talks with the baby now and then and see if your husband objects. A few days of this and hubby may start calling him [name_u]Billy[/name_u], too.
If he lets you keep [name_u]Billy[/name_u], I would let him chose the moddle name - no matter what!
