I stumbled across this while gazing at all the combos I can’t decide on. And I cannot let it go, esp as the adorable nn Émi ([name_f]Emmy[/name_f]) could be used, as we call our Sélah—Sé (Sae).
I think it fits so well with her big sisters!
But is it enough to tempt me past my long time faves of [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] ([name_f]Haddie[/name_f]) or [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] (Shi)?
I never thought a Middle name option would take first place.
Noémi is perfect with big siblings Amaré and Sélah, and the “love” thread in all three names is just delightful! I really like the symmetry and balance of the three names together–five letters, different starting and ending sounds, etc. And Noémi reminds me of Amaré and Sélah in style, too. The only possible downside I can see is potential pronunciation problems, but I don’t see that as a dealbreaker by any means.
Thank you! Yes, I love the symmetry too and the charm of a light, airy first name and feminine but solid middle. Plus the love theme, although Amaré is Latin “to love” and not a middle, but Sélah is to meditate/pause and Noémi has the pleasant meaning. It all seems to fit.
Pronunciation is def an issue we’ve wrangled with by naming our oldest a word in Latin ([name_m]Amare[/name_m]) and then making it a “rae” sound. As Latin is a dead language, we haven’t had too many people contest us… Ha ha… But definitely we’ve confused the majority of the world. It really is not too difficult to say—just not what ppl are expecting—Am-uh-RAE. And then our Sélah has a decorative accent really which many ppl don’t appreciate , but we liked It, and since it can be said 2 ways, it kind of works.
[name_m]Long[/name_m] story short, we are used to the pronunciation thing, but I am actually thinking Noémi might be a little bit easier, if we mostly put her in groups of people as [name_f]Emmy[/name_f].
So funny! Lol. Yes I know! I am still not sure, as my deep love for [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] might win out! But this really does seem to fit. Crazy!
And [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] has long been One of my favorites… But I wasn’t quite sure about it. [name_f]My[/name_f] oldest did not like [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] like this, but she loves the Noémi version.
It really does all seem to fit! Looking at the three names together, they are just such a satisfying set. I definitely think the nickname [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] makes things easier. And as someone who has a name that lots of people need to be told how to pronounce, I’m definitely of the mind that it’s worth it for the right name!
Wow. Like @jonquils said, I was 100% team [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] but I have to admit this is a beautiful name! It does fit so well with your other girls
I agree with other posters, I was on team [name_f]Hadassah[/name_f] until I saw this post! [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] [name_u]Love[/name_u] is such a perfect name, and it fits perfectly with your other girls names! I think you’ve found the one
Noémi [name_u]Love[/name_u] seems to be absolutely perfect for you and your family. The ‘love’-theme and repeated accented E’s link all three names together well.
Thank you, fellow name lovers! I’ve been almost giddy since I ran across this combo this morning, and yes—my family likes it…but I don’t have the back up of Gah! Name excitement! That you all get.
I am going to pray about it still and see what the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] says, and take a step back now and sit on it, but my other girls names were like this too; once I find “the one” it usually sticks. I was afraid we’d painted ourselves in a corner with their names, in a way.
