New Orleans, LA NEVER would have crossed my mind… it’s a lovely name.
are you from the area and is that why it occurred to you?
I mentioned it to someone and that’s what they thought of immediately

I hear No and think old lady name.
[name]Magnolia[/name] nn [name]Nola[/name]
Hey! I voted for option number two.
Take care!
[name]Nola[/name] is very pretty.
It’s one of my favorites that you’ve considered, [name]Tara[/name]. Great name for you!

[name]EDIT[/name] You could also try [name]Naomi[/name], [name]Natasha[/name], or [name]Nathalie[/name] ([name]Natalie[/name])!

[name]How[/name] odd!!! I don’t think that would be the normal reaction when people hear or saw [name]Nola[/name]. I don’t think you have any worries in that area. If you love it - use it!
I live near [name]Louisiana[/name] and that’s what people think of.
[name]Hi[/name], [name]Tara[/name]!
New Orleans, LA is definitely not the first thing I think of! However, I think that this question would depend on your location. For example, someone in New Orleans (or somewhere close) might think of [name]Nola[/name] as the abbreviation of the city, while someone else in, let’s say, New [name]York[/name] might not. <-- That was just a random comparison that could have been totally incorrect, though!
I think that [name]Juliette[/name] “[name]Jules[/name]”, [name]Bella[/name], [name]Mia[/name], [name]Leo[/name], and [name]Nola[/name] sound great together!
Good luck!
I had never heard of [name]NOLA[/name] as an abbreviation for New Orleans. When I mentioned the name to a friend of mine she said that was often how it was referred to in news report during hurricane [name]Katrina[/name].
It doesn’t necessarily trouble me I just hadn’t heard of that before.
Thanks for your response

I like [name]Nola[/name] with our sibset, too! It is definitely on our short list but hubby says he hears GRAnola. However, he says the more he says it the more he likes it. Yay
Thanks!

when I think of [name]Nola[/name] I always think of [name]Scarlett[/name] J.'s character in Match Point. I never ever would have thought of the new orleans thing
I haven’t seen that movie…is her character a nice representation of the name or icky?

I am from New Orleans, but live in TX now. [name]Nola[/name] is the front-runner for our baby girl’s name. It’s sentimental and different, without being too weird. I say go for it!
Yes I do think of New Orleans, but I still love the name.
The reason I associate it with New Orleans is that [name]Emeril[/name] Lagases (sp?) used to have a Cajun restaurant in the SF [name]Bay[/name] Area named [name]Nola[/name].
My family lives in New Orleans so it’s definitely an hommage in my book. But it’s really beautiful nonetheless. In fact, my mom has been pushing it on me for our little girl!
I had a great-aunt named [name]Nola[/name] (born in the early 1900s). I have never met anyone else with that name. I think it makes a nice change from some of the other old fashioned names that are becoming overly popular these days. If you want a really unique name, try [name]Alon[/name] ([name]Nola[/name] spelled backwards.) That’s what my great-aunt named her daughter. . .
I’m searching for a girls name right now for our 3rd! 6 weeks left… My husband suggested [name]Nola[/name] to me a few weeks ago and I have added it to our slim list… I like it!
We in BC, [name]Canada[/name]
