Non-frilly, feminine but strong?

Here is my idea of non-frilly, feminine but strong (hopefully, brainy too!);

[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Hero[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]*
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Wren[/name]
[name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]

*I’m suddenly allergic to girl names ending in -a, so [name]Cordelia[/name] is the wild card on the list. I also like that they won’t blend in with other names in terms of sound.

I’m not sure how to find this type of name on the NB search, it seems rather prickly!

Thanks!

[name]Beatrice[/name], very feminine but intelligent. Almost a guarantee she’ll be a glasses girl!

Agree with [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name]! These are my “[name]Hermione[/name]” names.

[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Diana[/name]
[name]Willow[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Hermione[/name]!

[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Temperance[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Patience[/name]
[name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Maude[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Liselotte[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Ariadne[/name]
[name]Vermilion[/name]
Remidios
[name]Millicent[/name]
[name]Juno[/name]
[name]Tara[/name]
[name]Vera[/name]

[name]Irene[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]

Oh and [name]Felicity[/name] which i consider very strong and feminine but maybe a tad frilly…?

I quite like [name]Penelope[/name] (although I’d prefer [name]Persephone[/name]), [name]Viola[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Juno[/name], [name]Ariadne[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Diana[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name]! Also [name]Felicity[/name], but it is a bit frilly.

I would definitely put [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Louise[/name] on that list!
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]

Also, the style is definitely inspired by [name]Abby[/name]'s “[name]Hermione[/name]” post! Although I’m not partial to the old lady names such as [name]Agnes[/name] and [name]Gretchen[/name].

I think [name]Rosalind[/name] or [name]Roselyn[/name] are both beautiful blends of femininity and intelligence.

Those are very pretty! I’d use [name]Rosalind[/name], but for all of the Lindas out there! Any more suggestions? [name]Abby[/name] at Appellation Mountain has a post on “the Hermiones” that is interesting to read!
