Can anybody think of some nicknames for Victoria that are not the obvious Vicky or Tori?
TIA
Also, your opinions on the name would be greatly appreciated. I’ve always loved it but initially ruled it out due to being a little boring. But I’ve been thinking about it a lot recently.
Vee, [name_f]Ria[/name_f], [name_u]Vic[/name_u], [name_f]Toria[/name_f]
I don’t mind the name [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] but I’m not fond of [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] at all.
[name_m]Tennis[/name_m] player [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] Azarenka’s nickname is [name_f]Vika[/name_f] (vee-kah), which I’ve always liked. [name_f]Cori[/name_f] or [name_f]Cora[/name_f] would also work, though people would probably assume it was short for something else. Most of the Victorias I’ve known have gone by their full name though, so I would say you definitely don’t need a nickname unless you wanted one.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is a lovely, elegant classic name, not boring at all to me
I have a cousin (by marriage) who is Russian, and her name is [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. She goes by [name_f]Vica[/name_f], too.
I also like [name_f]Trina[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. It’s what [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]'s mother calls her in the Masterpiece series [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], though it was originally a nn for her first name, [name_f]Alexandrina[/name_f]. I think it works, though.
[name_f]Toria[/name_f], “V” or usually the last name is incorporated in the nickname since it’s a fairly popular girls name and there seem to always be two or more [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]'s in a classroom
[name_f]Vika[/name_f]/[name_f]Vica[/name_f] is great!
There’s also [name_f]Vita[/name_f], which is a super-cool vintage name in its own right, but I think works for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] too. Or maybe [name_f]Via[/name_f]?
I like [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. It’s traditional and feminine, but not boring or frilly.
[name_f]Vita[/name_f]
[name_f]Vi[/name_f] (pronounced ‘vee’ or ‘vye’)
[name_f]Tia[/name_f]
[name_u]Ori[/name_u]/[name_m]Ory[/name_m]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is OK. I wouldn’t say it’s boring but it’s very common so not very interesting. [name_f]Vittoria[/name_f] is a more interesting
I like [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. It is beautiful and classic. I think of it the same way I think of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. A little popular but rightly so!
[name_f]Queenie[/name_f] was sometimes used as a nickname for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] in the past (in reference to [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]).
I also recently heard [name_u]Rory[/name_u]/[name_u]Rori[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]! We are considering using [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] for our daughter due in 3 weeks.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is one of my favorite names. I love that it is classic, international and has a lot of historical and cultural connections and. My favorite nickname is [name_f]Vicky[/name_f], but I think [name_u]Tora[/name_u], Roo or [name_f]Vika[/name_f] (traditional Russian nickname) could work too.
[name_f]Vita[/name_f] is the only one I’d use. I am a fan of [name_f]Vita[/name_f] Sackville-[name_u]West[/name_u] though, and she was [name_f]Vita[/name_f] short for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
Actually the nickname [name_f]Vita[/name_f] is one of the only things I truly like about [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], aside from the ‘victorious’ meaning, as otherwise I can’t say I have great associations with the name.
I like [name_f]Ria[/name_f], Rhi and [name_f]Vika[/name_f] for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. I don’t like [name_f]Tori[/name_f] or [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] either - I feel like they just don’t do such a beautiful name justice, if that makes any sense.
[name_f]Vicky[/name_f] [name_f]Christina[/name_f]!! I would love to name the daughter that way. If I am considering [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], I would def take this one. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it sounds like cliche, i like it a lot. It is elegant and classy. You can call her [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] when little, and [name_f]Christina[/name_f] when she is older. It sounds more mature to me. when she will be a young beautiful lady she will introduce herself with her full. [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] [name_f]Christina[/name_f]. I love when the name has some kind of stages due to the age.
