Nora Elise... too hard to say? Suggestions?

I posted another thread a few days ago looking for names, and have been looking all day every day since! I think I might like the name [name_f]Nora[/name_f] (at the moment… Sigh) but I feel like it’s a little plain.

I kinda want to jazz/pretty it up somehow. The baby’s last name will be both mine and my husbands (17 characters, not including the space) so we don’t want to do a middle name.

Is it weird to have 2 first names? Too country?
Which names work with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] to give it a prettier feel?

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] Liette
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]

Combo names are good suggestions too… Like [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], Noralee, [name_f]Noretta[/name_f], etc.

Double first names are very country to me, I live in the south and grew up with several people who went by two first names. I find [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] a bit hard to say, it kind of all runs together. I think [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] is lovely though.

I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is okay, but they are both very demure, mild names. Together, a little bland.
Also, I have a hyphenated name that is exceedingly long as well as a middle name, so I would let the length the last names bind you.

I’m not generally the biggest fan of two names. I wouldn’t say it’s southern, but names like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f], etc., just feel very dated. Almost colonial. That being said, I know a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] which I think is lovely.
Combo names are my preference - I love [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]. [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is another possibility. Also [name_f]Annora[/name_f], [name_f]Honora[/name_f], [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] or [name_f]Lenore[/name_f], [name_f]Nordica[/name_f] and [name_f]Norma[/name_f].

I don’t really understand why you don’t want a middle name. They aren’t used much, so it wouldn’t really get in the way…if you change your mind here are some options you might like. (sorry, I find [name_f]Nora[/name_f] kind of plain, but [name_f]Honore[/name_f] is close).
[name_f]Honore[/name_f] [name_f]Allegra[/name_f]
[name_f]Honore[/name_f] [name_f]Lisandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]
[name_f]Lourdes[/name_f] [name_f]Nathalia[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is pretty, and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is one of my favorites. Alternatives are Lenoire, [name_f]Sonora[/name_f], and [name_f]Leora[/name_f]. For a middle name with [name_f]Nora[/name_f], I would suggest:

Laurien
[name_u]Laine[/name_u]
[name_f]Kathryn[/name_f]
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]
Oaige
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Rhianne[/name_f]
[name_f]Moon[/name_f]-sorry, I can’t help but like it with [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
jacqueline
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] or [name_f]Lynne[/name_f]-Sounds great with [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and probably belongs to a relative you have
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] would be fine as a first and middle, but not a double first name [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. It just doesn’t flow well enough for that. Plus, they’re both a little bland, so putting them together does nothing to spice up the name. Also, I do find double barreled names a bit country/southern sounding. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it sounds like that’s not what you’re going for. I would go with something like [name_f]Honora[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], or [name_f]Lenora[/name_f] (you could use [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as a nn) rather than a double first name. A double first name and two last names is a bit much.

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] would be beautiful as a first and middle… and it’s not too long.

I don’t think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is good as a double first name. As a first and middle, I think it’s fine.

Have you considered [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]?

You’re all right, two names is probably silly.

Looking into middle names then. I appreciate all the suggestions!

I’m not a fan of double first names. It does come off very southern ([name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_u]Sammy[/name_u]-[name_m]Joe[/name_m], etc…)

If you were to do a double, you would want a single syllable name, so [name_f]Elise[/name_f] doesn’t work. Something like: [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f] would though.
