Which name do you prefer with siblings named [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]? The thing that is kind of holding me back from [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is that I’m wondering if it sounds like a dog’s name?
I think they both sound great with [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]. I do have a dog named [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] but I do not think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a dog name, or an animal of any kind name. Honestly I am not sure which I adore more. I think at this moment I will say [name_f]Nora[/name_f] but ask me in a few hours and it could be [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
I love both names and either one sounds good with the sibling names, but I think I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] a tiny bit more. It is pretty popular for dogs but it’s also popular for people and I don’t think human names on pets make them any less usuable on people. I’ve known dogs called [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] but when I hear the names I don’t immediately think of dogs.
I love both, but I have to say [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as a sibset, too.
I know a few Lucys, and they’re definitely not dogs. I don’t think it’s a problem. Personally I prefer [name_f]Nora[/name_f] (due to knowing so many Lucys) but I don’t think there’s an issue with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] with the siblings names, though I would generally prefer [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I don’t think of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a dog’s name at all.
Whoops, just realised this thread is from 2017 because I accidentally clicked on a page in the thousands!
I was literally thinking today that I have 5 or 6 friends with babies named [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. Go with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. It’s darling and for sure not a dog name.
I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] a lot with your other names. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is ok. In high school, 45 years ago, my best pal’s father (who was a psychiatrist) told me that pets should NEVER have people names. I have abided by this, so my dogs & cats were Lightning, Frisky, FurMonster, Rascal, [name_u]Jet[/name_u], & [name_u]Salem[/name_u].
Hmmm when I read the title I thought [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. It’s less popular and the right amount of feminine.
But… [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] probably goes with the sibset better. Then they all have different endings.
I don’t think people would associate [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a dog name.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a middle you want to use? That might help you decide
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is definitely not a dog name. Are there dogs that exist named [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? Sure. But it’s not synonymous with pets. I have met far more human Lucys then I ever will dogs.
I slightly prefer [name_f]Nora[/name_f] in general but either one is a great choice!
