I am desperate for advice as I [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Nora[/name] but really want a unique less used name for my little girl. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Nora[/name] will be up and coming and too trendy in 2012 and beyond? Also I like the pairing with [name]Reilly[/name] for the middle name. Thanks for the feed back! (due date [name]July[/name] 2012.)
I love [name]Nora[/name] dearly and I don’t think it will be too trendy. So long as a celebrity doesn’t swoop in and steal it, I think it’s safe to say that [name]Nora[/name] will stay under the radar for the time being. I quite like [name]Reilly[/name] but do the r’s run into each other or is it just my pronunciation?
I agree with @author in writing that it isn’t too trendy. I only know one [name]Norah[/name]. If you’d like something a little less popular, what about [name]Eleanor[/name]/[name]Eleanora[/name], [name]Lenora[/name]/[name]Leonora[/name], [name]Annora[/name]/[name]Honora[/name], [name]Honor[/name], [name]Elnora[/name], etc.?
Good luck!
My YDD is [name]Nora[/name] [name]Jane[/name], she’s 4. Where I live, there are at least 1 [name]Nora[/name] in every grade at school.
That being said, I love the name, would not have chosen another and it fits my spunky, sweet mischievous girl to a T.
hi there,
if you don’t mind me asking what part of the country do you live in?
I think [name]Norah[/name] is lovely, I don’t see it as a common name at all, but not so unusual that it would be unrecognised either - just perfect in my view. I am in Australia, if that makes a difference.
I’m not sure about the flow with [name]Reilly[/name] though.
@anniebel7, I live in Western MA in New [name]England[/name]. I find this to be nameberry central — meaning that every nameberry beloved name is quite popular in my little town…
hmm, thanks for the info. I am in the South and probably moving to [name]Colorado[/name] within 5 years… and I always wonder about regional differences with name trends. Thanks
anniebel7 - I just posted a thread about regional popularity.
I live in the Chicago suburbs and I know three Noras–two are infants and one is 3 yo.
I think [name]Nora/name is beautiful but I don’t like [name]Norah[/name] [name]Reilly[/name], it’s quite hard to say with the R’s clashing!
