Normal spelling for KAYT-lin?

Caitlin is the spelling that I see as “correct”, but I prefer the [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] spelling. If someone were to tell me that their names is KAYT-lin I would assume that it is spelled [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f], but I have never met anyone with that spelling. I have known 3: [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f].

Caitlin, which is my favorite, but I also like [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f].

If a name is commonly spelled with both C and K, I tend to like the C spelling more ([name_f]Catherine[/name_f] over [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Cara[/name_f] over [name_f]Kara[/name_f], [name_f]Christine[/name_f] over [name_f]Kristine[/name_f], you get the idea). A notable exception, weirdly, is [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] (vs [name_f]Cathleen[/name_f]) which I only like with the K.

But I digress. [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] for me.

I prefer [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]. But I think that [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] might be the most popular.
