So not too long ago I posted a thread asking if the name me and my boyfriend had agreed on, [name_m]Xander[/name_m], could stand on its own. Although some of you said yes, other validated my concerns that it comes off as nicknamey.
I’ve recently come to realize the other problem. When people ask what names we are thinking I get so excited to tell them our girls name, [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f], even though it has received critisism. But sometimes I get embarrassed when telling people [name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Maybe it is something to do with how the names flow? I just can’t get excited about it.
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a family name so that will stay as the middle, but maybe you can suggest some names that my boyfriend will still like that I can get excited about?
The only other names he has suggested were [name_m]Damian[/name_m] (which we can’t use), and [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], but I am pretty sure that was a joke. But a little [name_m]Leo[/name_m] would be very cute!
I actually really like [name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]! You could do [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] on birth certificate and just always call him [name_m]Xander[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] too.
What about:
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
Or [name_m]Dominic[/name_m]?
I like [name_m]Damian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] has matchy “s” endings so it’s not ideal. Here are some suggestions.
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] (too heavy on the angel theme with [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]?)
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Raphael[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] (the angel theme revisited)
[name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Ivan[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Philemon[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Jerome[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Cassian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Xander[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] sounds great, but it may not be the name for you. I think [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a great alternative. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is one of my favs. Some alternatives:
[name_m]Zeke[/name_m]-[name_u]Love[/name_u] this one
[name_u]August[/name_u]/[name_m]Augustus[/name_m]/[name_u]Gus[/name_u]
[name_m]Drake[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Holden[/name_m]
[name_m]Lennox[/name_m]
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]
I actually suggested [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] today and all I got back was “there is no short form for [name_m]Xavier[/name_m].” To which I responded, neither is there for [name_m]Xander[/name_m]. So, poor [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] was ignored. Maybe I should stop asking him for his input on names while he is at work…
Ugh I love these names!! Especially:
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximillian[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
To me, your boys name flows a lot better than your girls. I think it’s a stand alone name, too. Nothing to be embarrassed about!
