If you’re familiar with the Netflix show She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, you’ll be familiar with the First Ones text shown in the series (and if you’re not, you should make yourself familiar with the show). The language is written to look like constellations and it’s quite pretty, imo!
A couple official First Ones sigils
She-Ra
Queen Angella
I’ve been playing around with it while planning my next tattoo and I want to get some more practice at the artistic side of it before I decide for sure what I want.
If you’d like to see something of yours written in as a First Ones sigil, please comment ONE combo! I plan to try different artistic stylings for each name and I’ll pick my personal favorites for each finished combo but I’ll post the entire process so if you want to pick a different style or combination, you can draw it on your own!
Please be patient as I don’t know how fast I’ll get these out.
Here is an example of one I did for my combo Cleo Somerled:
(I’d already done a few practices for Somerled in my notebook but there will be options for all names in the combo)
I’m excited to see some new names! If you’re curious about the process, read on below:
A bit about the sigils
The language is written phonetically so that means letters like X and Q are written “ks” and “kw”, respectively. Since this is the case, if you’d like a name that doesn’t have a straightforward pronunciation, please clarify how you want your sigil pronounced! For example, I’d use different vowel symbols for Emmeline depending on if it’s “leen”, “line”, or “lynn”.
You read the sigils from right to left, top to bottom. All of the syllables are connected to a line with dots on either end. The word branch can be decorated with lines ending with dots. The combos will be connected with a solid line. How the syllables connect to the line or to each other is up to artistic taste.
