I am at a loss for what to name second daughter and would love some suggestions so I can put together a list of possibilities. My first daughter’s name is [name]Kirsten[/name] [name]Lucille[/name]. [name]Kirsten[/name] was my husband’s first choice for a girl’s name last time and [name]Lucille[/name] is my mother-in-law’s name.
I am looking to use [name]Lynn[/name] for the middle name for this one as it is the family name I wanted to pass down next. Beyond that, I am open to about anything.
It’s hard to try to give a list going off just one name, but here are some that seem to go well with [name]Kirsten[/name] (which is lovely)
[name]Celia[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Maura[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Lynn[/name]
With your other daughter’s name starting with K, I’d rule out names starting with K or a hard C sound, unless you really really love it.
With both [name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Lynn[/name] ending in -n, I’d avoid names ending in N.
With [name]Lynn[/name] starting with L, I’d avoid L.
With [name]Lynn[/name] being a short name, you might do well with a longer first, or if the name is shorter, longer vowel sounds, to give balance.
[name]Kirsten[/name] has an interesting style. It’s Scandinavian in origin, but so few names are that’s probably not a major category to investigate. I’ll have a few selections below though.
[name]Kirsten[/name] is also one of those names that was most popular a generation or two back, but never so overwhelmingly that it sounds particularly dated now, so you might want to draw from names in that category, as opposed to names that are more classic or names that are more currently in vogue.
With those in place, here are some of the names that come to mind (really liking [name]Erica[/name] for being in quite the same vein):
[name]Kirsten[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] and…
With [name]Kirsten[/name], I’d go for a Germanic/Scandinavia name:
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Freya[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Annika[/name]
*[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Laila[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Greta[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Linnea[/name] (this gets the [name]Lynn[/name] in there, but I would pair [name]Lynn[/name] with it…I also like [name]Linnet[/name])
*[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Helena[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Frida[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name]
*[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]/[name]Amalia[/name]
[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Beatrix[/name]
*[name]Kirsten[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] (not the Italian loo-ChEE-ah, but LOO-sha or LOO-see-ah)
I agree with another poster that a KL / KL sibling set could be cool if you either aren’t planning on more kids or are OK with really setting a trend (either because you’ll stick to it, or are OK breaking it). Of those suggestions, [name]Katrina[/name] actually occurred to me earlier too - [name]Kirsten[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Katrina[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] are pretty cool.
