So my daughter’s first birthday is fast approaching and although I wouldn’t say I regret her name, some days I wonder if I would have been happier with a different choice.
It could be because she’s my only girl or because she’s 95% likely my last baby (therefore the last one I get to name!).
Her name is [name_m]Keir[/name_m]@ E1ise and although I do think it’s pretty and that it suits her perfectly I can’t help but occasionally look at her and think “maybe we should have called you ___” anyone else experience this!?
One of the main things that bothers me is that my boys have fun nicknames for their names and she does not and yes I know that all names don’t need nicknames but I wish she had one. I’ve tried Keke and [name_u]Kay[/name_u] and I don’t like them for her. Anyone have any suggestions of nicknames for [name_m]Keir[/name_m]@? Maybe if she had a nickname that I loved I would finally feel 100% satisfied with her name! Thanks everyone!
In my experience, the best nicknames evolve to fit the child. I wouldn’t worry about a fun nickname right now, although [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] is cute and fun! [name_f]Keira[/name_f] is lovely!
[name_f]Keira[/name_f] [name_f]ElIse[/name_f] is a gorgeous name! Really beautiful and will be a name that suits her in all ages.
The nickname options are pretty tricky. I’d be using [name_f]Keira[/name_f] itself as much as possible anyway as it’s so pretty. Then maybe toy with Rara, [name_f]Kara[/name_f] (though that is risky as changes the name and I like [name_f]Keira[/name_f] better!), [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f] (as a fun mix of her first and second!), [name_u]Kay[/name_u]-[name_u]Kay[/name_u]. I agree that [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] / Keke is not nice. As she grows up, her bros and friends will start calling her what they like - though get that you might want to get in early so it’s a good one.

ps. Her middle name is [name_f]Elise[/name_f] lol, apparently I picked the wrong spot for a number!
I know a few Keirans who go by [name_f]Coco[/name_f] and/or [name_m]Keir[/name_m], so I think both of them could work for [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. I really love the suggestion of [name_f]Kiki[/name_f].

I actually don’t mind [name_f]Kiki[/name_f] as Kicky (and I like the suggestion of [name_m]Keir[/name_m]). I just don’t like Kee-Kee, seems boy fantasy to me!
[name_m]Ra[/name_m] is the only other nickname I can think of that hasn’t been suggested already. What letter does your last name start with? Maybe you could make a nickname out of her initials? (Kel, Kez, etc)
I actually love the suggestion of [name_m]Kick[/name_m]! I’ve definitely heard it before (I think for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] in that case?) but it’s super interesting and fun.
I would suggest, as a mushing her first and middle together, maybe [name_u]Kelsie[/name_u] or [name_u]Kasey[/name_u]?
